RESIST THE DEVIL.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
What is resist the devil ? It means to withstand the devil, to opposed the devil. The question is that how do i resist the devil?. Here is the guide lines.
1) SUBMIT YOURSELF TO GOD.
i) Giving your life to christ. This means been a new creature by leaving your old way of life that doesn't please God, such as clubbing, stealing, drinking of alcohol, womanising and more.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Program your heart to live a new and better life.
Things don't change on its own, men change things. There is a saying, that time changes things.i think i don't agree with that. Because no matter how long it take until you change something about your life, your life will never change. Remember that change is constant.
Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
ii) Humble yourself in the presence of God.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
If you humble yourself in the presence of God, he will lift you above the devil, just as jesus did in the book of luke chapter 4, after he humbe himself with fasting and prayer God lifted him and his frame spread abroad.
iii) Humble yourself with fasting and prayer
Psalms 35:13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
If you will resist the devil you must understand the mystery of fasting and prayer... Even jesus fasted forty days and nights. The devil came to tempt him but he resisted him with the word.
Your fasting and prayer will not be that effective except you add the word of God to it. So you can grow in the spirit.
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
The word of God is very important in our life. Because the devil is a rolling lion seeking for who to devour.
Jesus fasted, elijah fasted, moses fasted 40 days and nights and were filled with the power of the spirit.
2) DRAW NIGH TO GOD.
We draw near to God by studing, reaching, knowing and abiding to his word.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
i) We draw near to God by been in his presence. His tangible and intangible presence.
ii) Coming to church with all our hearts.
iii) we draw near to God with our heart by making our hearts an avenue where God dwells.
iv) worshipping him with a broken and contrite heart. Which spiritually and automatically becomes a sacrifice to him.
Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
3) HAVING A CLEAN HAND.
You can resist, oppose and withstand the devil when your hands are clean, Your ways are right and when you are living righteously.
Psalms 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 24:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
The hills of the lord is a holy place, that why he said i am the lord, be ye holy, for i am holy.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN CLEAN HANDS
i) Stay away from evil
ii) avoid the sinful life.
iii) Purify your heart and mind
iv) Avoid evil companies.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
4) PAY TITHES.
Tithe is the one tenth of what you have received from God, work, business and more
Let see this scriptures,
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
God promised to rebuked the devil here, if will always pay our tithes. So tithes give you legal right to exercise authority over the devil because it is the promise of God to rebuke the devil. How will God rebuke the devil by giving us the power to resist him. Through our commitment with God we recieve the influence which God has and we start operating like God.
Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
So you have the power to resist the devil because you are God.

Failure to know who you are, the devil will rubbish , frustrate, demoralise you.

TOPIC : FOUR DEVIL'S STRATEGIES TO DESTROY lIVES
1) MONEY. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 But they that will be rich falls into temptation and snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) for money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after they erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrow.
Money is Good and important, even the bible says money is a defense but if it is not well manage with discipline can destroy lives the want of money without investment or investing is what destroy lives more. Money is a currency but I call money the rewards for service. So if you want money then render a genuine service it comes your way. This season you shall enjoy money in Jesus name amen.
For they that will be rich fall into temptation and snare. Yes many want money so badly that it has destroy their home,lives, pass and future. Because of the need of money without selfcontrol many have become ritualist, join occultist practices, some prostitution. Some sleeping with married men and women for the sake of money.
* Money can buy your anything but can buy your soul
What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lost his soul. Your soul is priceless, no amount of money can purchase it. Please preserve your soul.
And into foolish and hurtful lust. Like yahoo plus. Yahoo boys are thieves online thieves come out of it, it is evil in the present of God it will bring curses to and latter destroy you.
Some are into p**n, showing their n**e picture all over for the sake of money. Using their present to destroy their future. Money CHRISTIAN have erred from the faith for the sake of the love of money which is the root of evil. Some christian works 24hours for money no time for God, some goes to club, hotels and gambles for money sake. Many have heart attack because they gambles their home, children school fee, house rent, boss money and more do to having money.
If you must make money genuinely discover yourself, your talents, gift and think well.
* In every man there is a seed of Greatness, search for it, draw it out and trust God to announce you through it.
Your little business, job you do is better than prostitution, fraudulent, ritual practice and all evil means of making money.
It takes service and investment to maintain the flow of money consistently in your hands.
2) WOMAN. The bible says it is not Good for a man to be alone I will make for him help mate for him which is the women. The true is not all woman are help mate some are s*x mate. Not all are helpers some are destroyers.
Proverbs 31:3 Give not thy strength unto women ,nor thy way to that which destoryeth kings. The only thing that destroy kings are women, give not thy strength to them.
Delish destoryed Samson.
Foreign women destroy Solomon.
David committed murder for a woman's sake.
When the devil want to get great men he sent a woman.
Proverbs 20 : 29 the glory of man are their strength. That is why Delilah says tell me where your great strength lies. Woman are the tools of the devil to rob your anointing, glory and destinies.
I pray for you if your glory have been rob be restore In Jesus name amen.
Eli had two sons that their anointing was rob by woman and their evil did in 1 Samuel 2:22-25.
Some women,young ladies are agents of darkness,destiny robbers, dream Killers, flesh eaters and blood drinkers. Oppositely to the woman also.
3)PRIDE. Means self exaltation.
Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. Becareful for pride is a destoryer, it makes you feel you at up there and above everyone else but not know you are least of your rising.
Daniel 4:28-37 God resist the proud and give grace to the humble. He remove Nebuchadnezzar from being king over Babylon and man him live like animals for years Good years and he repented of his sins and give glory and honor to God the creator of heaven and earth. Pride can be generational. Even the son of Nebuchadnezzar which is Belshazzar was as proud as his father too and God divided his kingdom and give it to Medes and Persian in Daniel 5 :28. Pride is destructive, it brings disobedience, shames and also if it is not well handle results to death some situation.
James 4:10 humles yourselves in the sight of the lord and he shall lift you up.
* Nothing sponsor the lifting of a man humbleness.
Every spirit of pride in my life die by fire.
4) alcohol. It is a harmful substances that destroy the body, mentality and soul. Please run away from it.
Proverbs 31:4-6 it is not for kings, o Lemuel,it is not for kings to drink wine,nor for princes strong drink.
Lest they drink and forget the law and pervert the judgement of any of the afflicted.
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
The bible say give alcohol to those that are ready to perish, so the more alcohol you take the more you destroy your own life stop drinking, the money you are using for drinks can go a long way in your life in doing other important things like investing on your family. Verse 5 say lest your forget the law. Many drunkards have forgotten God, they don't go to church, early in the morning they are in their ogogoro joint singing their redicle songs.
* Some drinks and get drunkest falling into the gutter.
* After drinking alcohol and been drunk they start beating there wife and children at home.
* A responsible person should not drinking because it make them misbehaves.
Some drinks and get drunk Get the wrong woman and those they don't have affection for pregnant, after realizing it there lives become miserable.
* Some ladies drink and forgot themselves and the are been r***d.
* Drunkard have no plans for their future because the spirit of drunkness will not allow then to.
It was when Samson got drunk that was when his hairs was shaved. And he became powerless.
It was when Noah got drunk he was nake and ham saw his nakedness.
It was when lot got drunk he slept with is only two daughters without knowing and they bore him children, what abomination.
Drinking alcohol is not Good for both male and female and also a children Of God avoid it. May God give us the power to overcome this things in Jesus name amen.
