This is open to anyone who would like to attend. Only $15 for a 75 minute session!!

One session can teach these athletes things they can do at home to increase their athleticism.

May be hitting the courts on Thursday morning, will keep you posted.

We have only had 6 kids signed up to pay the $50 for the quickness and agility training. We still want to offer this training to the kids that want to put the work into improving our HC basketball program, but we will need more of a commitment or will need some help with donations.

We are looking for 4 more participants and/or we are looking for any local businesses that would be willing to donate to this cause. This is top notch training and that comes with a pricetag. We want to be able to offer this program to any and all kids for free or at a rate that is affordable for all families, but without more participation or some donations rolling in that won't be possible. Only those that can afford the one on one training will thrive and the others will not. These kids can work out on their own and we get that, but you can't put a price tag on a team working out together while pushing each other and holding each other accountable as that is invaluable!!

The movements and exercises these athletes are being taught will not only set them up for athletic success in any sport, but will also teach them proper athletic movements which will lower the chance of injuries.

If your son would like to participate or you want to make a donation please reach out to Nick Arone or Kevin Shoup.

Quickness and Agility Training as ASD will start back up on Tuesday, 6/13 and will run once a week until 8/1. There will be 8 sessions offered and just like in the spring it will be $50 for a month (4 sessions) which works out to only $12.50 a session. We will go every Tuesday night in June, this should be accommodating because there is no football on Tuesday nights and no Jr Legion/12U baseball games. Please let me know by Friday if your son is participating or have your son reach out to me. We need to secure 10 people to be able to keep the program affordable and under $50 a person. If we don't get at least 10 kids committed, then we may not be able to do the program at ASD.

Also... I will be leaving for vacation in a few days. We will pick back up with organized park sessions the week of 6/12. We do encourage the boys to take the initiative though on their own and run pickup games the way they were taught until we start back up in 2 weeks.

24/05/2023

I was unaware that there was football tonight along with little league and Jr Legion. This wipes out most of our group so we will not be at the park tonight.

We will still be going at 5:30 tomorrow night.

23/05/2023

There will be basketball at Intown Park on Wednesday and Thursday nights this week at 5:30

16/05/2023

There will be hoops tonight at Intown Park at 5:30.

09/05/2023

Due to a few conflicts, including baseball games tomorrow night at all age levels, we are moving our first park sessions from tomorrow night to tonight. Participation level would have been very low if we did it tomorrow night.

We will be at Floodway tonight 5:30 to 7:00 to kick off our spring and summer training program. We look forward to seeing you out on the court tonight.

We'll be off in May from training but will be picking back up in June. This promotional video is a great example of what we are doing with the boys on a weekly basis at ASD. Every training move you see in this video is developed specifically for basketball and is a part of our program. If you missed the first 2 months then definitely consider joining us for the summer sessions.

Congrats to the girls varsity team for advancing to the D6 Championship on Thursday night!!

Great job girls!!

We couldn't be more proud of our 6th Grade Boys team!!

This weekend was the Drugs Kill Dreams Tournament at Armstrong High School. This is annually one of the toughest tournament fields to navigate. Up against a field of 10 class 4A and 5A schools, these boys from little Homer City went over there and made some noise!!

The boys lost to Plum in 2 OT to open the tournament. Then rebounded with double digit wins over North Hills and Karns City to secure a spot in bracket play.

They opened bracket play this morning by beating the host team, Armstrong, in the quarterfinals. The boys then got out to a fast start in the semi finals against Franklin Regional and gave them all they could handle, but eventually ran out of gas in the 2nd half.

This wraps up their regular season. The boys will take a 22-4 record to the State Tournament in State College in a few weeks where they will be looking to make a Cinderella run!!

12/02/2023

Our 6th Grade Boys were at it again!!

Congrats to these boys for beating Armstrong 39-26 and winning the Westmoreland League Tournament.

This is their 3rd tournament championship this season, as they improved to 19-2 on the year and will be back at it in 2 weeks out at the Armstrong Tournament.

Great job boys!!!

As part of our spring and summer program we will be offering basketball related strength and agility training at Alexander Strength Development. We will be getting started in early March.

Sessions will start at 1 night a week and will move to 2 nights a week as we progress. We are seeking donations at the moment, so the cost to participate is still being worked out. At the most, there may be a small monthly investment of $20 to $30 per kid, it all depends on our donation revenue and the amount of kids we have participating in each age group.

We will do our best to keep costs as low as possible and schedule around any baseball or track events to try and increase availability and participation.

We will run a 7th - 8th grade group and a 9th -12th grade group. If you would like to register and/or learn more, then please reach out to me at 724-840-8450 by next Monday, January 23rd.

Thanks!!
