Jacqueline Dupre meets Janice Joplin over wine and whiskey
This just in – today's concert raised over $1500 for the downtown breakfast program!!!
Thank you so much to everyone who attended and donated. We are so grateful for your generosity – and for not starting a riot (those who were there understand this reference 😜 )
Happy Sunday evening, everyone!
is complete – and together, we raised $23,465 (and counting) for the Cedar Centre!!!
Thanks to all who donated, spread the word, and sent messages of encouragement.
I will post photos tomorrow – right now, I have to convince my beasties to forgive me for spending so much time with Vixon and Truman. 😀
Here we go! I'm heading down to to walk with Team Vixon in support of the Cedar Centre. I will have Brian, Iris, Sarah, Jennifer, Cyndy, Liz & Dave, Josh & Cindy, Keith & Sarah, Peter, Beth & Robin, Bill, Rob & Trudee, and Maryanne & Bob as wings at my feet, thank you all!
There's still time to support: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA
Okay my lovelies, only one more sleep until you don't have to read these posts!
After my initial goal of $200, I have raised $1,050, Team Vixon has raised $2,325 (after setting a goal of $500), and a total of $22,680 has been raised for the Cedar Centre.
I'm still determined to raise $50 more, in order to beat my professional fundraiser bestie, Lisa Gleva. C'mon, it's the principle of the thing at this point.
Visit https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA , NOT LISA'S PAGE, and bump me over the top please?
Two more sleeps until for the Cedar Centre, and my wonderful supporters have helped me surpass my FOURTH fundraising goal, THANK YOU!!!!!
That goal stays the same now, as promised, but... well, you see, I'm $50 behind the top fundraiser in the Cedar Centre walk, and she is not only a dear friend, but a fundraising professional. So at this point, I'm sensing a dirty, dirty rivalry about to take place, because I wanna claim that spot for bragging rights! 😀
C'mon, who's ready to help me challenge Lisa Gleva's fundraising prowess? Visit my page (not hers, mine 😉) to donate and learn more: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA
Three more sleeps until for the Cedar Centre, and I'm only $100 away from my FOURTH fundraising goal, with Team Vixon $10 away from quadrupling our team goal, thanks to today's donation from yet another amazing cousin!
Can you bump me to the finish line? (I promise, I won't change the goal again, but I'm always happy to exceed it 😀 )

Eek! I'm JUST sneaking in the 4-day warning.
And friends, Team Vixon has been bumped from our 2nd place by Team Ramble (on) – led by a PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISER, c'mon Lisa!! I mean, we're happy if anyone is raising money for the Cedar Centre, but... were kind of enjoying our cushy spot in silver.
I think the team lead by the resident Service Dog needs its David & Goliath moment, don't you? Gloves off, baby!!
Visit https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA and help Team Vixon regain our rightful 2nd place in the
Totally SMASHED my third fundraising goal, and have now raised 4x my original goal. Dare I aim for 5x, with 5 days to go?
Other than forcing me to exercise (dog walking doesn't count, they sniff everything and take an hour to do a 20-minute walk), you'll be supporting the Cedar Centre, which is the best organization on the planet! (Fight me, I dare ya! 🤣 )
Visit my fundraising page (once I adjust to my new goal) to donate or learn more: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA #&panel1-1
I can't believe that, thanks to some super-generous friends (new and old), family and neighbours, I'm only $50 away from my THIRD set goal for this fundraiser for the Cedar Centre!!!
I started hoping for $200, that got bumped to $500, and now at $750. Do I need to bump my goal again? YES PLEASE!!! I love having my pessimism blasted to smithereens. 😀
Head on over to my Ride For Refuge page at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA #&panel1-1 and donate or learn more about this incredible organization.
Woo-hoo, Team Vixon has caught up to Solutions4Refuge, with each team getting 22 donations to Cedar Centre – who wants to help us take the lead? (Yes, my competitive spirit has kicked into gear 😁)
Mosey on over to my page to make a donation or learn more. https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA
This time next week, I'll be putting my feet up and enjoying a glass of wine with Vixon, his successor-to-be, and our favourite human (who also happens to be Cedar Centre's Executive Director 😀 )
Oh my goodness, Team Vixon is still in second place, with only 8 days to go. We've got some catching up to do – will you help us support the Cedar Centre?
Please head to my personal fundraising page at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA to donate. I don't want to have to exercise for nothin'!
Hey everyone, did you know that there are SEVEN teams walking or riding for the Cedar Centre on September 23? And guess what? Team Vixon is currently in 2nd place for fundraising – so it’s time for some friendly competition! We only need 5 more people to donate to catch up with the leading team, Solutions4Refuge – can you help us out?
Please head to my personal fundraising page at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA to donate.
Thanks for supporting Team Vixon!
I'm fundraising in the Ride for Refuge on September 23 for The Cedar Centre -- an organization that has been near and dear to my heart for... egads, decades! Formerly known as YRAP, they began providing services to victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse, but have since expanded (and rebranded) to address all interpersonal childhood trauma (including human trafficking, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or neglect) as well as expanded awareness and prevention programs.
You all know how passionate I am about addressing childhood trauma!
I'm walking as part of "Team Vixon" - Vixon is the Cedar Centre's resident therapy dog, taking retirement after years of service this fall, and living out the rest of his years with the Cedar Centre's Executive Director (and my bestie since Grade 2), as the new whippersnapper takes over his position.
By participating in the RIDE, I'm taking action to help kids like I once was - and their families and loved ones - get the support and tools they need to find their voice and start their healing journey. Please help me help the organization I wish had existed when I was a kid.
Please head to my personal fundraising page at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5223995&langPref=en-CA to donate.
Thanks for supporting Team Vixon!
Return of the Revenge of the Birthday Breakdown
Return of the Revenge of the Birthday Breakdown The not-so-Annual Birthday Breakdown Gosh, it's been a while since I posted one of these, hasn't it? As my girlfriends keep, ahem, remindin...
I've been working in music publicity since ***1989***, people – yet publicizing MYSELF is still always an afterthought.
But... yay me. 😀

My 1am miracle!
Narrator: In spite of what Alyssa predicted, the peace did last. Gráinne was carried back to her room, Jasper got a butt sniff. No fuss, no blood. Just peaceful progress.
I will not lie – this weekend, I was despairing whether Incel Romeo would ever calm down enough for us to get to this point.
No photo, but Macie was permitted to sniff Peppermint without fuss. Jasper was allowed to sniff the Mother Of All Cat Trees, but no butts.
Progress!
“Don’t wear bright colours, especially not red – what will you signal! Don’t stand out. Blend in. Cross your legs. Smile a little. Be nice. Nobody likes it when you’re uppity.”
Meh.
Happy International Women’s Day, everyone!
From your favourite bigmouth.
And if I’m not your favourite, that works too – if my words make you uncomfortable, then maybe I’ve done my job. 😜
It’s a first Sunday of the year kinda day. My word for 2022, tsarya, was given to me many decades ago (in a story too complex for social media). It means be true to yourself, live for and from your true essence. Today is when I plan how to put that word into action. Watch out!
Guys?!?!? THE WINE FAIRY IS REAL!!!!!
And not only do they know I love a nice red, they also know how to fly by security!!! I was going out TO CHANGE THE DEAD BATTERY on my safety camera, and found this gift at my door.
Whoever this sassy and sneaky fairy is, THANK YOU for this thoughtful pick-me-up. Your card had me both laughing and (still) teary.
Feeling the love, and doing my best to follow your advice the next few weeks. ❤️

The hotel room was great, but my trees sure put on a spectacular “welcome home” for me!
(Dogs were reasonably welcoming, but probably had more fun with Iris and her puppy!)
I wanted a place to stay tonight, so I didn’t have to spend 8 hours in my car this weekend. I was thinking a couch, but… holy geez, guys!!!
I’m afraid to use the bathroom, and I feel like I should have worn more high-fashion clothes to walk through the lobby. 🤣🤣
My place of work this week. I am in my happy place on so many levels. 🥰
