Made by me today for dinner. Eating Colorful Food Has Health Benefits:
Every one of your meals doesn't have to be multicolored (though it wouldn't hurt to add a salad with different-colored veggies to the menu), but you should get a range of fruits and vegetables in varying hues over the course of a week.
We know that the most vibrantly colored fruits and vegetables have the most nutrition. Eating an array of colors just ensures that you get the benefits of all of them.
Made these in our home during lockdown, for encouraging family playtime.
Finally something practical and worth sharing:
1. We may have to live with C19 for months or years. Let's not deny it or panic. Let's not make our lives useless. Let's learn to live with this fact.
2. You can't destroy C19 viruses that have penetrated cell walls, drinking gallons of hot water - you'll just go to the bathroom more often.
3. Washing hands and maintaining a
two-metre physical distance is the best method for your protection.
4. If you don't have a C19 patient at home, there's no need to disinfect the surfaces at your house.
5. Packaged cargo, gas pumps, shopping carts and ATMs do not cause infection.
Wash your hands, live your life as usual.
6. C19 is not a food infection. It is associated with drops of infection like the ‘flu. There is no demonstrated risk that C19 is transmitted by ordering food.
7. You can lose your sense of smell with a lot of allergies and viral infections. This is only a non-specific symptom of C19.
8. Once at home, you don't need to change your clothes urgently and go shower!
Purity is a virtue, paranoia is not!
9. The C19 virus doesn't hang in the air. This is a respiratory droplet infection that requires close contact.
10. The air is clean, you can walk through the gardens (just keeping your physical protection distance), through parks.
11. It is sufficient to use normal soap against C19, not antibacterial soap. This is a virus, not a bacteria.
12. You don't have to worry about your food orders. But you can heat it all up in the microwave, if you wish.
13. The chances of bringing C19 home with your shoes is like being struck by lightning twice in a day. I've been working against viruses for 20 years - drop infections don't spread like that!
14. You can't be protected from the virus by taking vinegar, sugarcane juice and ginger! These are for immunity not a cure.
15. Wearing a mask for long periods interferes with your breathing and oxygen levels. Wear it only in crowds.
16. Wearing gloves is also a bad idea; the virus can accumulate into the glove and be easily transmitted if you touch your face. Better just to wash your hands regularly.
17. Immunity is greatly weakened by always staying in a sterile environment. Even if you eat immunity boosting foods, please go out of your house regularly to any park/beach.
Immunity is increased by EXPOSURE TO PATHOGENS, not by sitting at home and consuming fried/spicy/sugary food and aerated drinks.
Share if you believe this can spread practical awareness.
This morning I was having bread butter in breakfast. Wanted some green chutney for extra taste. But thought of Modiji's advice and didn't ask my wife for it.
I got up myself, went to the kitchen, brought it on my own from the refrigerator, applied it on bread and had it.
Though the taste of chutney was different but had a great patriotic feeling of AATMNIRBHARTA..
After few minutes my wife came and asked me: "Have you seen a bowl of Mehandi I kept in the refrigerator last night ?" 😳
Wherever you live, from a 1BHK to a lavish Mansion, there is enough space to easily grow some of your own fresh greens. Contact me for creating your own Kitchen Farms & Home Gardens - any size, any budget.
Request to all,
We don’t know for how long the lockdown will last. Let's us not create more trouble for our Government and civic bodies.
Kindly copy paste or share to everyone for following simple things during these hard times
1) Waste segregation and proper disposal: Else we are inviting another series of diseases
2) As physical routines are reduced, stick to daily indoor exercise, lower food intake, stay happy n healthy
3) Spread precautions not havoc. Help elderly, poor and sick by connecting them to the government aid, if required. Do not preach or advice any medication for any ailment.
4) Do not overstock anything. Aim for zero wastage of medicine, food and water.
5) Find means to keep the family engaged n happy.
6) Be efficient n productive during Work from Home, so that your company also values your contribution and a collectively a positive sentiment prevails in economy
Regards,.

Running Commandments:
1. Before getting into high intensity training, complete at least few kms of base mileage, be it cycling or running.
This applies even if you are restarting after several months.
2. If you are very serious about your running, please buy yourself a heart rate monitor (HRM). Pure HRM (without the GPS tracker) is very cheap.
3. You already have a HRM and you already boast about your Heart drawing sine waves and saw tooth waves, flashing your VO2 max, Max HR and Lactic threshold HR numbers around, also spend sometime to know your resting HR.
4. Resting HR (RHR) is your best friend. It tells you how your body is reacting to your previous day workouts, your half-baked sleep cycle, your illness, your injury and what not. If your see your RHR is unusually high, sleep the day off. That’s what an professional athlete would do, there is no second thoughts on what you should be doing.
5. You wake up and you don’t feel like running, sleep it off. If you’ve started running and you don’t feel like continuing, walk it off. To hell with your stupid challenges you enrolled or the one you created. Your mileage doesn’t prove you are a good runner. Also does your challenge have a clause about what happens if you are dropped dead the next day . See, they don’t care.
6. ‘If you see me collapse, pause my garmin’ - these quotes should stop right in your tee shirts. In reality, it’s a horrible statement.
7. Running Schedules are created assuming you would follow atleast 70% of what it says. They are merely a guide and not a Bible. It’s okay to miss few runs.
8. Never workout when you are sick or injured.
9. Never ask someone to workout if they are sick or injured.
10. Do not force someone to run along with your pace. The converse of this rule also applies.
11. Stop creating pressure on your running buddies about podiums and PBs. If the training is right, everything will fall in place.
12. One should decide by themselves which race and what distance they should run. Do not influence your friends to go for something they aren’t ready for.
13. Keep a phone handy while you run. You don’t know when there will be an emergency. Your family members would try to reach you on a life-death situation and you cannot tell them you were on your schedule.
14. Memorise phone numbers of your running buddies and the admins of your running team. You never know when you would need it.
15. Wear proper running attire while you run. This is the respect you give to the sport.
16. Running with formal dress, jean, T-shirts, Kurthas May look cool for your insta post or a whatsapp status, may be few of your phoney friends might fancy it, but it would look like you are being chased by someone and would cause a public nuisance and sometimes if you collapse on the pavement you could be mistaken for a drunkard - and no one would pause your Garmin - dreadful right?
17. Wear helmets every time you ride. On a cycle or a bike. You run, you workout and keep your body fit for your longevity and you don’t wear a helmet, is like you travel all the way to France to visit Taj Mahal. That’s right, it doesn’t make any sense.
18. No headphones on the road. Run/Ride or drive. You should be listening to the ambient sound all the time. Assume a truck is behind you, out of control, everyone is shouting at your to move aside and you are running like there is no tomorrow, your wish will be granted almost immediately. There are several way to get hurt, but stupidity shouldn’t be one of them.
19. Warm up before any workout, cool down after any workout. Your heart needs a heads up when you are starting a workout and when you are completing. Don’t surprise it.
20. Add strengthening to your schedule to create more dimensions to your fitness and be injury free.
21. It’s good okay to run barefoot, as long as you take care of your feet and take frequent tetanus shots. Otherwise stick to the shoes. No one cares if you run with blisters or wounds.
22. Do not try extreme dieting methods without proper guidance/knowledge. Home cooked food are best in all ways. Control the portions, chew the food while you eat.
23. A good gambler is not the one who wins more, but the one who knows when to quit. Same applies to running. You should know, how much is too much.
24. We are not athletes. We can be athletic, but we are definitely not athletes.
Remember: Enjoy your run and keep smiling
