Ruth Bader Ginsburg, affectionately known as "R.B.G.," has inspired generations of women to break barriers of gender. Despite gender discrimination and obstacles, Ginsburg went on to become the second woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court and the first Jewish woman to do so. Throughout her career as a justice, Ginsburg has worked tirelessly to promote women's rights and equality for women.

The first American Indian woman and the first person to receive federal aid for professional education was Susan La Flesche Picotte. Her studies included Obstetrics, Pharmaceutical Science, Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, and others. In Philadelphia, she also participated in clinical research. Once she graduated, she returned to the Omaha Reservation and applied to the Omaha Agency Indian School. As a doctor, Susan cared for thousands of individuals.

We give thanks to Susan La Flesche Picotte for all her accomplishments during Women’s History Month.
