About; Currently I reside in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I decided to go with a charity that is based in the state I live in. This charity focuses on health and education for young black girls and women living in Africa. One of the main things they provide is sanitary pads for these strong women, education of menstruation and protective s*x, provide special training, and school supplies. I really appreciate this charities work for helping young girls feel confident and empowered and feel like they have an opportunity to make a real difference even though they live in a poverty stricken area. Black Lives will always matter and Women’s rights will always matter. This charity helps both.

Hughes takes this opportunity to take his writing in a new direction and produce work unlike that of his previous ventures. Having spent 6 years honing his craft both in the studio and live, including opening for The Amazons along the way. Brian has already found support from Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly for Angelica Mode and has been featured on BBC Radio Scotland for his song writing. Swedish Folk artist Sofia Talvik is back with an annual Christmas single. This year she is reflecting on all the hardships of
2020 and those of herself as an artist, trying to be creative during a very uninspiring lockdown.
Sofia has followed her tradition of releasing a Christmas single every year for over 10 years. In 2017 she gathered her
songs up till then and released the album ”When Winter Comes” which charted as no 5 on Folk Radio USA.
For this new single she has taken a step away from her usual acoustic Folk/Americana sound and explored the wonders
of dream-folk. With a production of 5 different guitars and a banjo she has also invited New Orleans drummer Marc
Pagani and Swedish bass genius Janne Manninen (Robyn, Seinabo Sey) to join her, creating a magic wonderland for this
evocative production which still manages to tie in with her folky roots.
”I guess you could call it a doomsday Christmas song, because why not, it’s 2020.” Is Sofia’s own words about the single.
Her most recent album ”Paws of a Bear” was released in 2019 with a follow up unplugged version in 2020, both of which
garnered attention and praise from both radio and publications around the world, such as Alternate Roots report, American Songwriter and Billboard.
Sofia Talvik also released a new unplugged Christmas EP “Notes For Christmas” today, which contains stripped down versions of her 3 latest Christmas singles as well as a traditional Swedish Christmas song performed in Swedish and German.

Day Seventeen - Emmrose - Maybe Next Christmas

About
Fifteen year old singer-songwriter Emmrose navigates the halls of New York City's LaGuardia High School by day, and writes and performs original music at night. Though eager to share the fact that LaGuardia High was the launchpad for the likes of Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Aniston, and other celebrated stars, Emmrose isn’t chasing fame. Her passions is to write her poetic and introspective music which is influenced by today’s alternative pop stars like Lorde and Billie Eilish. Though also drawing inspiration from artists such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and Elton John, when asked about her current favorite artist she confidently states Radiohead. Born and raised in lower Manhattan, Emmrose began playing piano at the age of eight. “I was at Sunday School when I came across a brown, upright piano sitting alone in a room. I remember sitting alone and playing an A-minor chord. I didn’t know what that was yet. I played some other chords and before I knew it, I had written my first instrumental song. In 2016, Emmrose began collaborating with EDM artist, Rebecca ‘Krystalmath’ Rossi, at her Manhattan studio. Together, the two wrote and recorded “Can You Feel It?” which was released in early 2019. Emmrose's first EP Hopeless Romantics is due out this summer. She currently records her music at Behind the Curtains studio in Brooklyn with producer Mike Abiuso. She also studies voice with the world-renowned vocal teacher Dr. William Riley and instrumental music with Berklee Assistant Professor, Dominic Sahagun. Emmrose, even at age 15, is planning for everything life gives her. “If this music thing takes off, I’ll go with that,” she says. “I’ll write more, do more and have a blast. If nothing happens, then I’ll still be okay. I’ll never stop writing. It’s too important. Really.”

Corri is a singer and song-writer. She fronted modern country band Brokedown Cadillac, which CMT described as "just right for any country fan who likes the feisty side of Miranda Lambert and the blazing-guitars side of Keith Urban.” The band had dozens of their songs placed in television & film, including Desperate Housewives, Hellcats and The Mentalist, and was featured in the film and on the soundtrack of Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain.
