We’re happy to invite you all to the conference and exhibition Philosophy of Self-Cultivation next Thursday and Friday 22-23 June in central London! The conference emphasizes the intersection between philosophy and social sciences. The exhibition takes place at the same time and is open to the public for free. To ensure the effectiveness of the participants' body and mind experience, only offline sessions will be held. On behalf of the Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy of Royal Holloway College University of London, we cordially invite you to participate in a conference “Philosophy of Self-Cultivation” to be held on the 22nd and the 23rd of June 2023, in the Senate House in central London.

The idea behind this conference is to bring together experts from diverse disciplinary, cultural and gender backgrounds to discuss self-cultivation. Instead of focusing on the linear evolution of some self-cultivating traditions in Western philosophy, the goal is to emphasise the multivocality and mutability of self-cultivation in the global milieu of philosophy today — within and beyond the Western traditions. We welcome papers that treat self-cultivation as both a philosophy and a practice in a variety of contexts, such as artistic and cultural creations, health and wellbeing, ethical and political engagements.
