Someone decided to take a nap in the feeder
We have had a lot of people ask us if we are still getting eggs and what we are doing to get them.
While our chickens do free-range, they also get fed daily. We feed a mixture of wheat, corn, soy, oats, seeds and mix in a few eggs once a week as well. Eggs that we find hidden or that have small cracks, but fresh.
We have oyster shells and grit available all year long.
We also feed scap food as well. When we cook our eggs we save the shells and crush them up. The crushed shells go into the chickens feeders.
They have fresh water daily, and we make sure they aren't frozen.
We have noticed less eggs, but they are still laying.
We are looking forward to having more daylight and more eggs.
Happy laying!
