Many of you are wearing masks for long hours every day. Because they are an essential part of your wardrobe these days, here are some tips from a friend of mine who is a Dermatology PA about how to repair the skin issues they can cause...⁣
⁣
1. 🔴Dermatitis: red, itchy, sensitive, peeling skin⁣
⁣
🚑 What to do:⁣
•Be sure to wash your masks daily. If they are not washable, put them out in the sun for the day.⁣
•Wash your face with a non-surfactant (non-foaming) cleanser like Soothe.⁣
•Provide a barrier protection under the mask by applying a lightweight moisturizer during the day, use your heavier moisturizer at bedtime.⁣
•Breakup with makeup. Jazz up your eyes but don’t use the foundations, etc when wearing your mask. If you feel you must, use a skin protector with environmental, barrier, and photo defense built-in, like Radiant Defense.⁣
•Our Soothe #2 (Sensitive Skin Treatment) has anti-inflammatory properties that work great for calming this down! It also acts as a lightweight oil-free moisturizer. Bingo!⁣

2. ❌Acne Mechanica: acne caused by the friction, rubbing of the mask.⁣
⁣
🚑 What to do:⁣
•Do the steps above.⁣
•Save your acne regimen/treatment for bedtime.⁣
•Treat your acne! If you need help, let me know! I’ve got some pretty great solutions.⁣

3. ‼️Pseudofolliculitis Barbae: ingrown hairs and irritation on men’s faces.⁣
⁣
🚑What to do:⁣
•Some get better not shaving. Others do better shaving more often. Trial and see what is best for you. Be sure to use a triple-blade razor and moisturize after.⁣
•Soothe #2 is awesome for calming your skin after shaving.⁣

4. 🔥Rosacea: red, flushed, hot face.⁣
⁣
🚑What to do:⁣
