International Homeopaths For Autism

This is feedback from the mum of a five year old boy who has been experiencing PANS/PANDAS symptoms from Lyme and Streptococcus infection.

When Mum came to see me, her boy wasn’t able to get in the car without flaring, wasn’t eating like he used and was struggling with OCD behaviours. In a flare he was biting, pulling hair and throwing things. In our last consult, Mum reported: “Three years ago, I felt they had taken my son away”. “Now there are no flares.” “He is eating like he used to. He is eating everything. Feeding himself.” “He wasn’t able to go out before. Recently we went to a wedding. He was joining in and playing with other children.“ “He is curious. He is exploring. Making eye contact again.” “Better understanding. Following instructions.“

PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neurological disorder associated with streptococcus) are neurological disorders that can be triggered by infections like Lyme disease and Streptococcus and affect the basal ganglia of the brain.

PANDAS is associated with streptococcus infections whilst PANS is associated with other infectious triggers, such as Lyme disease.

PANS/ PANDAS is an episodic illness, meaning that symptoms can come and go in cycles.

In PANS and PANDAS, the immune system mistakenly attacks the basal ganglia instead of the infection.

The Basal ganglia is a group of brain nuclei that control motor skills, decision-making, emotions, and behaviour.

Symptoms of PANS and PANDAS include OCD-like behaviors, Tics, Restrictive eating, Anxiety, Depression, Emotional lability, Irritability, Aggression, and Oppositional behavior. 

A flare or relapse can be caused by any stimuli including a new infection (bacterial or viral), an untreated infection, an environmental substance, such as mould or allergens, a food intolerance, stress and exhaustion.

In homeopathy we treat the whole person. I treat the underlying trigger such as the Lyme disease, Strep and co-infections, strengthen the immune system, and treat the symptoms. Gut repair and diet is important.

Just recorded Ep7 of Homeopathy Is Changing Lives Podcast with Charn Badhan Homeopathy

I’m working with little R since she was 7 months old. She is 16 months now.
It has taken us time and patience (on parents part) working together consistently to reach this place.
Seizures and developmental delay often presents together in infants. So progress is not always linear, sometimes we see improvement in milestones (like better head and trunk control), improvements in digestion and sleep (easier bowel movements, more food intake by mouth, deep restful sleep) and improvements in seizure activity (less intense, less frequent, faster recovery from a seizure episode).
Today R’s babbling during the follow up truly made my day. We are not 100% there yet but hopefully will be there soon. I had to share this mid-way progress though ! 😊

I have been treating this 9 year old boy since February 2023. He was diagnosed with autism and was struggling with learning and speech delay. When his mum came to see me she told me he couldn’t have a conversation, couldn’t talk about what he was doing, there was no pretend play. He mumbled and would give short answers to questions. He was obedient, very sensitive and emotional. He had had a traumatic birth and Mum said he had stopped talking after the MMR. These were two key aetiologies to his case.

After the first set of remedies, mum reported that his sentences were clearer, pronunciation was clearer and he was arguing more with his brother. On the third appointment, Mum reported that the speech therapist had noticed that his language was a lot clearer. He was also making two way conversations and was reciting the Russian alphabet. More recently he went into KFC on his own and ordered some food for his mother and paid for it with his own money. And so it continues. The above post is feedback during the last appointment.

There has been healing after each set of remedies as we slowly but surely remove layers. Recovery takes time and commitment to the process. We are still working together to help this amazing boy. I am grateful and blown away everyday by the miraculous healing power of homeopathy.
