Believe it or not sending photos by phone has been around since the 1930s. While today we’re constantly sending images back and fourth In the 1930s, wired photo transmission represented a groundbreaking advancement in technology, enabling the rapid transmission of images across vast distances for the first time as this 1937 footage demonstrates. This was achieved through the use of wirephoto services, which converted photographs into electrical signals that could be sent via telephone lines and then reconverted into images at the receiving end, line by line.
