TUVALUAN skipper Tausau Lopati believes the young side will be showcasing their best skills at the coming Oceania Sevens Tournament scheduled for November 7 to 9 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Lopati is representing his country for the first time at the Oceania Sevens and says he is looking forward for the opportunity to represent his country.
“As a captain of a very young team, we have a lot of young boys in the team so we are trying to remind them what we are here for, we are proud to be chosen to represent our country and we will give our best,” said Lopati.
The side held a scrimmage session with the Wardens rugby team which consisted of former sevens star Amenoni Nasilasila and sevens rep Asaeli Tuivoka.
“Wardens team is a big name here and we were ucky to have a small session with them. It was a big learning experience for us to play against them today and we learnt some new things too which was a benefit for us.
“We are here early and that is what we need because we need good preparation, mentally and physically. The weather here is just the same as back home and the boys love it,” said Lopati.
The Tuvalu side is pooled with Samoa, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea in Pool B. "Fiji Times"

Fiji is assisting to committed its neibouring island nations towards capacity-building their human resources.
This was highlighted by the Minister of Employment, Productively and Industrial relations Hon. Parven Kumar Bala while signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Fijian Government and the Government of the Republic of Tuvalu.
The purpose of the MOA signing is for the engagement Fijian Volunteer Teachers under the Fiji Volunteer Services.
