Rounding off another rainy day painting session w some shadows work.
Last B&W value check before the finish highlights on jewelry and eyeshadow. Below the lips needs some fine tuning. Almost there.
Fresh start on second portrait of the set.
Laying out the foundation and praying for patience.

Started as a plein air jazz oil painting…
Spray painted over, and only now, years later it comes to life.
If you’ve never read the history of Napoleon, I highly suggest it. Nobody exemplifies the power of determination and will over adversity, against odds like him.
Converting your painting to B&W along the way helps check for proper lighting values. The mind can be distracted by colors but the mind will subconsciously pick up inaccuracies.
If you aren’t critical you’re static.
Stumbled into “AIDA” preview in the Palace of Diocletian.
Diocletian ,cabbage farmer turned emperor, split Rome after Marcus Aurelius’s son Commodus proved himself rather cruel, insane and an unfit emperor .
Fun fact… In the early days of Rome, actors and poets were looked down upon with status similar to that of a s*x worker.
Regardless of your opinion on opera I highly recommend the reading Marcus Aurelius’s book “Meditations”. His personal diary of pure, clean , stoic wisdom, never meant to be seen or published.
Second time around moving this statue, I’m calling it or … best client ever. Always feel privileged when a customer gives some creative license.
“NEAR-ING” … , Even a broken clock is right twice… I wish I felt as strongly about something as this chap.
Work in progress.
Grinding on a Sunday morn…Pushing myself through my longest creative block ever… Cleaning and oiling out my only painting since the TBI, almost a year. Hoping my creative/emotional neural pathways return.
Not a huge fan of pop tourism, but the moon, the evening, the energy, rather won me over. “Get out of your box , but leave your expectations behind. “
Capturing some fantastic
I’ve always been captivated by this style…What inspires and motivates such random beautiful edgy brilliant art , for arts sake alone.

love these boys.
Letting go isn’t always easy, but most certainly essential for progress. Despite my reluctance to part w this painting I’m grateful it’s being viewed and appreciated. Much thanks to this couple , , and patrons of the arts.
Oil on canvas laying down the flesh tone foundation.
Progress shot, from dark to light. Oil on canvas.
Show some love and support.
Following last night's tragic events in downtown Waukesha we have decided to make some changes for our December 4th, Squats for Tots!
We will unfortunately not have Santa here at the gym!
We will still be Squatting and accepting donations, however that will be the conclusion of the "event"
A. Bring toys/clothes/diapers/wipes for donations
B. SQUAT
Those who take part will receive a T-shirt at a later date, due to the back ordering and delayed shipping for items around this time of the year..
We still hope to see some of you here for a great SQUAT session, we just don't think its best at this time to host an event with Santa and children!
Our best wishes to all who were very unfortunate to have to go through the events of last night 🙌🙌
There will be some fundraising and events downtown to help with last night, and we will 100% be involved!
For some time artistic inspiration has eluded me. While staring at paintings previously started; trying to force feelings of passion to paint, I stumbled across an image from one of my favorite modern authors, and fire was lit.
After years of masturbatory commissions and compulsory works finally feeling the flow, I let go, and began painting over a previous work.
I encourage you to read and support those bold enough to speak against social norms, strip away the layers and embrace the base core of being.
Quarterly progress review.
A special thanks to , for doing a killer job, stretching in a timely fashion. Can’t wait to dig into these projects.
Another piece of the puzzle... work in progress. Equally as the pleasurable as the painting process is the learning of light and subject. Capturing a story, an emotion on a blank screen. Life is a series of rabbit holes of opportunity to further yourself if you set no limitations.
Super excited for my latest commission... Cant wait to fire up the chainsaw and get back to carving. Sharing some drafted concepts.
36x48” oil on canvas
Work in progress...
Nothing more rewarding than making progress and peeling tape.
Bob Ross said “No mistakes only happy accidents. “ My grandfather said “No Excuses!” Can the two mindsets exist together?!?! I think so... Lack of canvas (resources) is not an excuse to stop painting (achieving), so I’m painting over my happy accidents. Nobody is going to hand you s**t in this world, so take what lemons you have, quit your crying, and make some damn lemonade already !
