Did anyone ask for same rare vintage watches? What about this 1963 Grand Seiko Chronometer (J14070)?
This is the first model of ”Grand Seiko”, which was born with the determination to ”make the world’s finest wristwatches” and the all of the parts accuracy, assembly technology, and adjustment technology based on the model called Crown.
The inaugural Grand Seiko, launched in 1960 during the mid-20th-century watchmaking heyday, remains a pinnacle of collectibility. Produced in limited quantities over three years, this 35mm × 10.5mm hand-wound dress watch is a prized vintage treasure.
It is a very standard, complete design that does not feel old-fashioned at all. The case is a very thick gold-plated 14K gold 80 micron. Unlike plating, it has a high-class feel. The back cover has a lion-marked medallion. It can be said that it is a unique feature of vintage Grand Seiko.
The Applied Grand Seiko logo at 12 o’clock on the dial is characteristic of late-produced watches.
The star-shaped mark above 6 o’clock represents the SD dial (Special Dial) and is printed only on watches with 14K or 18K gold index.
Observe(!) that even an extra original crystal in its paperbox is included. Probably even more rare than the watch.

We present here an amazing 18k gold IWC from 1961 with a magnificent dial with gold-tipped markers and Dauphine hands.
Inside, the exceptional 8531 automatic movement, more efficient thanks to the famous Pellaton winding system, and simpler thanks to its mechanism which allows it to be revised like a manual mechanical watch by dissociating the automatic mechanism.
Check it out in the shop.

If you ever come across a low priced, maybe simple looking vintage watch with an ”FB” and key insignia stamped inside the caseback, just buy it. That mark means early ”waterproof” greatness. That mark means quality, and that mark means François Borgel. You’re not likely to come across these at low prices; the mark is typically found within Patek Philippe’s ref. 565 Calatrava and ref. 1463 ”Tasti Tondi” as well as watches from; Vacheron Constantin, IWC and, as you see here in our Movado ”Kingsmatic” ref. 11179.
Borgel was born in 1856 and came to be one of the most important innovators and inventors the Swiss watchmaking world would ever know. In 1891, he patented the Borgel watch case. A perfect storm of sorts, the ”impermeable” case took off in popularity during World War I, where officers and soldiers required reliable timekeeping in rough conditions. While we might take it for granted today given the ubiquity of the water-resistant case construction, such as Rolex’s Oyster case, Borgel’s 1891 creation was in fact the first watch patented with a screw-down caseback.
Under the leadership of Taubert & Fils, a family who bought the François Borgel operation in 1924 following the passing of the man himself, the ”FB” and key insignia found its way inside the casebacks of some of the best brands in Switzerland. The Taubert family kept the Borgel markings and branding due to the strong rapport of François and his name. It was during the Taubert years that the company supplied cases to Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and, as is evident by the watch we have here MOVADO!

Beautiful 1960’s chronograph with Landeron 248-movement.😎
Cal. 248 is one of a family of cam switching chronograph movements produced by Landeron. It is closely related to the preceding Cal. 148. Like all movements in the family it uses Heuer-style oscillating pinion rather than a traditional horizontal clutch to activate the chronograph function.

1940’s Rare BREITLING ”Pre-Premier” ref. 760 with Venus 175.
This is an original Breitling ”Pre-Premier” chronograph ref. 760 and its mid-century charm comes across immediately.
The example we have here has a number of fantastic attributes. The hands are blued-steel batons for accurate time telling. The beautiful dial features stylized Arabic numerals. The twin sub-dials – elapsed 45-minutes at three o’clock; running seconds at nine o’clock – have a concentric engine-turned decoration and bring a sense of balance and proportion to the rest of the dial. The old-school Breitling logo is prominently placed in script under 12 o’clock and a crisply printed tachymeter scale finishes the dial layout on its periphery.

We’ve always said that Omega Seamasters from the 1950s and ’60s are some of the best vintage watches out there. You can explore a diverse world of designs and history from one of Switzerland’s most storied brands.
This reference 2937-4 Seamaster is interesting in that it features a large-for-the-period or ”oversized” case measuring 36mm in diameter. Overall, the watch has a great look on the wrist that is sure to impress the metal. And then the dial, what an amazing dial with the rare honeycomb structure.
You dont see these very often.

Here is a very rare oversized beefy lugs vintage Omega Seamaster from 1952.
This particular case style is known as the ”beefy” or ”fat lugs” case, and they are commonly seen in 34mm case size. However, this particular one is the seldom seen oversized version measuring 36.3mm in diameter excluding the crown by 44mm lug tip to lug tip. Making this timepiece 2mm wider and 2mm longer compared to the regular model.
Condition is everything!

🎖️VACHERON CONSTANTIN🎖️
This amazing solid gold Vacheron Constantin (7409) from 1961 was one of five ”new” vintage watches that was listed at our site yesterday.
Vacheron & Constantin watchmaking manufacture is the oldest in the world, having been in business uninterrupted for over 250 years. The company was founded in Geneva in 1755.
In 1755 Jean-Marc Vacheron, a young watchmaker opened his workshop in the heart of Geneva. In 1819, an experienced entrepreneur, François Constantin joined the descendants of Jean-Marc Vacheron. For decades he criss crossed Europe, opening up new markets for the ingenious products of the now renamed Vacheron & Constantin.
Today V&C produce a small number of exceptional watches -13,500 per year- showing the clear preference for quality over volume. Designing and producing all its intricacies in house, the factory also decorates each of its movements: angled bridges, drawn flanks, screws polished one by one, which are all then individually assembled by hand.
Did you know, the cal 1120 in this V.C is the same that later on will be the famous cal 920, used by both Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe? If you know, you know!

The Omega Seamaster Calendar ref. 2627 is such an exciting and historically significant watch.
The brand introduced the earliest Seamaster watches in 1948 just a few years after the end of WW2. During the war, Omega, like many other Swiss brands, produced watches for various armed forces. The brand developed a few things for military pieces — like water-resistant housings — that eventually went into production with early, regular Seamasters. Only four years later, the first Omega featuring a date came to the market. It was the Seamaster Calendar 2627! The one we now got for sale is also an early, rare first generation 2627-1. This very early one got the square date window. From 1953 onwards, Omega changed that to a trapezoid shape.
Searching for something rare, uniqe and historical important? Here you go!!!
