Memphis Choral Arts Children's Chorale

Memphis Children's Chorale — Memphis Choral Arts The Memphis Children's Chorale (grades 3 to 8) is a treble-voice, auditioned ensemble under the direction of Elicia Garcia Curry. The ensemble regularly performs with the adult ensembles of MCA and presents their own concerts in the Memphis area.

Music is going to be different to start but, we will still be learning recorder in 4th and 5th grades! If you have your own already that’s wonderful! There are artists who compose nature. Check out the work of Andrew Goldsworthy, and consider going into your yard, collecting some goodies (leaves, pebbles, sticks, for example) and arranging them in an elegant sculpture. Think about what it looks like from all sides. Even the top and the bottom! Is there an inside space? What could it be used for? Is it just to be pleasant to look at? Is it for a magical creature? All ideas are valid! Post your creations in the comments. I would love to see them!

Don’t forget about this fun video! If you don’t have construction paper, add color to white paper using crayons and markers. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a solid color-you can add lines and patterns then cut apart your paper into shapes!
