This was SO FUN to make! This Moodboard is a statement piece in itself! In case you’ve been living under a rock, or in other words - don’t have a VSCO or TikTok… lol. This style is BLOWING UP! Many many accounts and pages are being made every day exhibiting the crossover style that has been formed between southern prep and VSCO aesthetics!
In case you don’t know, VSCO is a photo editing app where you can also publish your photos. VSCO has already made a name for itself when it created its own aesthetic a couple of years ago. It’s now taking on a new form, joining forces with an already powerful aesthetic - “preppy” - specially, southern style. Creating this absolute unit of an aesthetic and style that young girls are dying to achieve. I decided to hop on this trend and design a living space incorporating these styles!
This is all about the bright colors and a playful feel! The decor prices steal the show, so I balanced out this space by placing simple furniture pieces that allow all of the elements to coexist together without any interruption.
This style is PERFECT for apartments and dorm rooms!
If you search “preppyvsco” you will find dozens of inspo accounts! Haha
Let me know what you think of this style down below!

Hey yall! comin at ya! This weeks theme is classy, cool, and clean. This space is sophisticated and professional - using minimal color and large scale decor to fill the space without creating clutter.
I personally love minimal color and large scale pieces in my space! The large area rug provides warmth in this space while distributing flow upward towards the ceiling with the use of the same color tones in the painting. Sometimes it can seem like spaces with minimal color are cold and uninviting, but when done correctly, minimal colored spaces can be warm and inviting without branching out too far ✨

WEDNESDAY WOW coming at ya!
This one is my favorite post to date.
That’s because when I watched house tour YouTube video, I completely fell in love. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing - my favorite elements and styles combined seamlessly into a beautiful and livable space. California contemporary with splashes of bungalow… lots of style elements that are making a big impact on interior style today!

designed this home and has endless talent!
Every single room is curated to perfection at every corner.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from this project!

What do you like about this style of home? What are your favorite elements! Let me know down below!

TIP TUESDAY today and it’s all about Feng Shui!
Largely a part of Asian culture, Feng Shui is a pseudoscientific traditional practice originating from ancient China, which claims to use energy forces to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment.
Have you heard of Feng Shui before? It is used in the architecture all around us!
Today’s helps you to achieve Feng Shui in your space!

FUNKY & FIERCE is this weeks !!
I had someone contact me this last weekend for help re-styling their bedroom. She already had cheetah print pillows that she wanted to incorporate into her space - so I gave her suggestions and inspiration on how to restyle a room with items you already have, and transform it into the space of your dreams!
This mood board packs a punch with its bold colors and patterns.
Emerald Green, Gold, Black, Tan, and Cheetah Print compliment each other SO well. Notice the little pop of pink located on the coffee table. Placing a splash of pink in with the emerald green further enhances the exotic character of this space while supplying a soft and feminine feel.
Let me know what your favorite aspect of today’s mood board is! 😍

Coming at ya with another !!
I am completely fangirling scrolling through feed.. every single corner of her home is absolutely gorgeous! This living room is one of my favorites. The contrast of the light wooden beams and the thick black window frames provides such a nice balance in the space. Incorporating the same balance between light and dark using contrasting sofas was a great choice to keep the theme of balance from ceiling to floor.
Using brown tones and leathers is a great way to coordinate furniture and decor with natural wood elements.
Perfect transition/flow, stylish, and comfortable all at the same time. I love it!
What do you like about this space??

I can’t believe never posted the before and after photos of this restroom - I thought I had already! Lol 🤦🏻‍♀️
Well here it is! This restroom went from boring to brilliant! Going for a more edgy & masculine look, I painted the countertops with an epoxy kit and made a custom painting for the space, including a touch of the businesses theme color. I chose black framing for the mirror and painting to tie in with the new countertop and new matte black faucet. I choose a bronze and black glass round light fixture to add some warmth and complement the sink bowl. The round glass on the light fixture and round mirror help to soften up the space from the sharp lines found in the countertop, art, walls, and ceiling tiles.
What is your favorite part to this design?? I would love to know! ☺️

GORGEOUS. Once again, for this week’s we have this beautifully designed kitchen by !
Recently, I have been seeing a lot of this gray-green paint color, and I must say I am all here for it, because I am obsessed!! This paint color goes so perfectly with gold accents and oak wood tones.

There are so many elements to this kitchen that I absolutely adore - from the range hood matching the cabinets, the arched built-in cabinet, the small window in between the hood and built-in, and (of course) the wall of windows above the sink.
Pay attention to the marble backsplash starting from the countertop up to the ceiling... This is like a breath of fresh air in the space, helping to lighten up the room as well as visually elevating the ceiling. I can’t go without mentioning the amazing beams as well! I could just live in this kitchen!

What is your favorite element to this design? Comment down below!!

I have shared some of these pictures a while back, but I wanted to share my floor plan for the 3 Bed, 2 1/2 Bath, 2 Car Garage home I designed last year. I absolutely love this layout! My favorite aspect of this design is the master suite being placed on the opposite side of the house, away from other areas of activity, creating a more private setting. The dining space being open to the living room and kitchen is also an aspect that I enjoy!
What do you like about this space plan?
Whether it be one small room or a large space, message me for space planning help!

COOL & COASTAL 🌊
This weeks is coastal style with a touch of bohemian into the mix - making me want to take a trip to the coast and relax by the beach 🤩

The American coastal style is defined by relaxation and comfort and has become one of the most popular decorating styles in the United States. This style is quickly growing and branching into sub-styles such as the cottage coastal style, the contemporary coastal style and more.

In order to create a relaxed, easy vibe, coastal design usually incorporates many natural elements. This comes in through the furniture, often made out of wicker, rattan, or light, weathered woods, and fabrics. Rugs are generally straw, seagrass, or jute, and fabrics are simple and devoid of shine. You won't find many metallics or flashy textures, but rather, natural materials or light, billowy fabrics, like sheer curtain panels. Though wood is common, it will usually be white-washed, or a blond maple or ash.

WEDNESDAY WOW!!!
Oh... I am just in loveeeee with this kitchen!!! How beautiful! The dark stained cabinets neighboring the dark painted cabinets pair so perfectly and balance beautifully with the all-white Island and white walls. The touch of blue found in the backsplash tile and rug is such a thoughtful addition to this space, and gives it a more unique appearance! The copper pendant lights provide just the right amount of depth and warmth to this space and helps to tie all other elements in together - creating an antique old world character in this space.

Paint is one of the most affordable and easiest ways to completely change the appearance and feeling of a room! So, let’s make sure we select the right one! ☺️

MOOD BOARD MONDAY!!!
Right off the bat, I must say, I LOVE these paint colors by Benjamin Moore. They are perfect for this concept, and pair beautifully with the black furniture. The lighter shade of paint color is Horizon (1478) and the darker color on top is Horizon Gray (2141-50). The rug I chose for this concept teams up with the desk chair to visually lighten up the space.
My favorite piece in this board is the industrial black distressed iron cabinet with paneled glass doors 🤩
It is a solid statement piece that provides the space with a sense of strength and character!
I DEFINITELY love this concept for my own future home office! ☺️ It is sophisticated and beautiful. What is your favorite element to this concept?? ✨

FRIDAY FINDS is finally here!! 🤍
SWIPE for product information!!
Last week I left town for my brothers graduation 🥳 - so I didn’t get the chance to make a post! But starting off strong this week, we are featuring items! After selecting all of my items, I found them all to be either Threshold with or Project 62 — They have some amazing items in their collections! This week has a bit of a coastal vibe to it with some mid-century modern sprinkled in.
I strategically choose items that are fair in price and can be used in any space — allowing you to incorporate these pieces into your home with any style and budget!
What are your favorite pieces from this weeks ?!?
Comment the stores or products you would like to see next week!

Thrifting is the BEST. Almost all of my decor is from a thrift store that I have either given new life to through paint, or placed in an environment where it can thrive in its original state!
Thrifting doesn’t have to be old doilies or weird trinkets .. it can be beautiful vintage stoneware, vases, and books!
As you can see in this photo, I have placed my latest thrift finds in a fashion that allows them to work together and tell their own different stories at the same time ✨

WOWOWOW!! I have no other words... what a STATEMENT this kitchen is! This weeks “Wednesday WOW” is this incredible two story kitchen with a large island table. The seating ties perfectly with the gorgeous beams that immediately draw the eyes upward. I absolutely love the use of the white light fixture.. it serves its purpose gracefully without interrupting the surrounding design, allowing the entire room to stay in flow. To have this kitchen would be an absolute DREAM...
What is your favorite aspect of this design?? I would LOVE to know!! 😍

If you have a coffee table tray, what are your favorite items to decorate it with?!?

!! This week we have a Classic Gold and White Bathroom! This color pallet is simple and classy. We have our basics - the staple pieces - faucet, sink, tub, and mirror creating a nice foundation to layer on the simply textured/patterned materials; such as the flooring, window treatment fabric, and rug!
This gives the space a bright and light look with a little personality that is not overwhelming!
I love this mood board... it creates a fresh and clean feeling ✨

It’s hard to get all of my homework done when this new interior Style is running through my mind constantly! I am officially obsessed with it!!

✨MOOD BOARD MONDAY✨
Darks and Lights in a Neutral monochromatic color pallet- using one of my own paintings!
I not base this mood board on a specific interior style, I inserted my painting into my board first and build off of that! This is the finished product!
This theme is sophisticated and elegant, with a touch of masculinity found in the darker accents and furniture using lines and edges.
What do you think of this weeks ?!? 😊

I have another updated section from my Hospital Project! This space is the revised waiting room corner seating!
What I changed: I removed the small chairs and replaced them with 4 larger lounge chairs. I also added 2 tall plants to bring a little more color and life into the space while simultaneously elevating the ceiling visually by drawing the eye upwards. I faced all four chairs inward facing the coffee table, sitting on top of a large neutral area rug. I removed the structural extensions in the wall and moved the provided support to another area. (I also added a proper ceiling w recessed lighting)
This created a space dedicated to comfort and conversation. This design concept isn’t typically seen as much as my first design for hospital waiting room seating. My first design offers to hold more people in the space and is clean, organized, and simple with little to no decor - making the space easy to maintain. Although, that may be ideal in its own aspect, I feel that conversation and comfort take on a more important role in this space. Hospitals have a reputation for feeling cold and uncomfortable, but I want my hospital space to feel warm and welcoming, offering ease to guests and their friends and family during their time here.

21/04/2021

Hey everyone! I wanted to give a short update on what I have been up to lately!
I am less than one month away from graduating with a BFA in Interior Design. School work is piled up high, but I’m finishing strong!
I am extremely thankful to everyone who has reached out to me for design help, it’s a great reminder that all I am working towards is coming to life!
I try to be as active on here as I can be and put out content that I think you will enjoy ☺️ However, I don’t know what content is most favored!
So I want to ask: What would you like to see more of on this page? Is it rendered photos from projects on my design programs, moodboards, decor/furniture finds, still shots of a space...etc
I would LOVE to know- it helps me a bunch! Comment what you enjoy seeing from me or what you would like to see more of!
I want you all to be inspired by my posts!

Have a great evening ✨

Does anyone remember this “kids corner” from my Hospital project?? Well I gave it a little update! Much better don’t you think?? 😍
I would like to add that the large windows in this space are one-way windows, meaning that you can only see from inside to out, not vise versa.
As you can see in this space, adding a large area rug is an easy way to completely transform a space!

19/04/2021

This weeks is Cottage Core! The other week you all voted for either Spanish Revival or Cottage Core as the next style... and I decided to do both! First up, Cottage Core.
I have not been as active lately on this page because my school work is keeping me extremely busy! BUT, I am still dedicated to creating fun mood boards every Monday for you to enjoy! 😊

Cottagecore, also known as farmcore and countrycore, is inspired by a romanticized interpretation of western agricultural life. It is centered on ideas of simple living and harmony with nature. Themes associated with cottagecore include self-sufficiency, baking, and caring for people.

This aesthetic feels like grandmas warm quit wrapped around your shoulder while you’re deep into a romance novel 📖

STOP SCROLLING!!! This is by far my favorite mood board to date. Today’s mood board is extra special because I collaborated with my new friend .ali
She is so talented and kind! Her style completely embodies a soft, comforting, and minimalistic feeling. I took her commission and built a room around it and this is what I came up with! This is a California Contemporary interior style bedroom in the company of a neutral color pallet.
What do you think of this
Comment what your favorite element is and give .ali a follow to see her creations! ☺️

08/04/2021

Interior Design Styles in 2021 have become very fluid within each other.. I love that elements from completely different styles can be combined and work beautifully together. This mood board I made has elements from different interior styles yet flows nicely.
This is what makes design so interesting and fun for me ☺️

Photos from Jalane Giesick Design's post 06/04/2021

MOOD BOARD TUESDAY? Let’s pretend I posted this yesterday! Haha happy Tuesday everyone!! This weeks was a special request from one of YOU! ☺️
Featured style: Primitive Country
(Swipe to see both photos)
Primitive country decor as a whole is an old-fashioned and historical design style; however, there are many characteristics that supplement this type of look.

Through themes, symbols, patterns, and colors, primitive country decor contains a variety of simple components that result in a unique and established appearance.
Themes range from Americana, Rustic, Traditional, and Warm & Earthy tones.

What do you think of this style? It reminds me of a fresh warm apple pie sitting on the window sill to cool 🥰
Go vote on my story to choose next weeks style!

30/03/2021

See any colors you like? This flat lay gives me a cozy coastal home feeling ✨
My favorite color of this selection is “Front Porch” located on the very left card, three down!
