Mental Health by the Spoons incorporates two stories about spoons to represent the way we think about mental health. The first is Spoon Theory that talks about folks having a limited number of "spoons" to use each day and how to manage them. The second story is about a group of people trying to eat soup with spoons that have enormously long handles. They are only successful if they feed each other. Both concepts are necessary for good mental health. We need to learn to manage our personal spoons as well as find ways to take care of each other as a society.
