Just about half-way through June. Time for another look at the Team of the Year chase. A few changes since last month. Congratulations to all of you!
Well the 8th Annual Reelin' N Smokin' Backyard Barbecue Competition is in the books. Pretty solid cook today. We pulled off a 3rd place finish in a field of 35 teams!
Chicken - 5th place Springer Mountain Farms

We are gonna take a little break for the summer and then get ready to go full throttle in September! Amanda Mills Blackledge might let me sneak one in before thenš.

Tonight weāre talking kcbs invitational/open with a great friend of the pod Mr Steven ānutter butterā Tremayne of two swine crew.
We are home home from the KCBS World Invitational and Open held in Lebanon, TN this year. They put on a great contest and the competition was stiff!
We ended the 2nd day hearing our name called for 5th in ribs. Our chicken was fairly judged and we knew it was as not our best. We ended up 17th out of 47 of the best backyard teams in the country.
The first day was a good time had by all. We teamed up with Norala BBQ Team and Small Batch Barbecue and created the Right On Que Podcast dream team. We ended up ranked 55th among 118 PRO teams and we were pretty happy with that.
We also participated in the Turkey Smoke and the judges must have hated our take on a Turkey Cuban and Amanda made a cocktail for the drink category coming in 31st.
All in all, we did what we love to do and got to spend time with our bbq family!
Congratulations to everyone that heard their names called. Congrats to Bushwood BBQ on GC and Smoke This Drink That KC on RGC in the Backyard Invitational. And an attaboy for Logan and Houston with Small Batch BBQ for a 3rd place finish! š

Itās the second day of Worldās and we are still feeling good after day one. We drowned our sorrows in a sackful of Krystal burgers and we are moving on!
Today is the Invitational, which means we are competing against some of the best backyard teams in the country to see how our ribs and chicken will stack up. š¤š¼

Set up at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, TN for the World Open and Invitational. We teamed up with Small Batch Barbecue and Norala BBQ Team for tomorrowās Open and the Invitational is Sunday to see how we stack up to some of the best teams in the country. Gonna be a fun weekend!

Congratulations to everyone that heard their names called this weekend!
We participated in the Wampler's Farm Sausage sponsored Taco Contest Friday night and ended up with a 4th place call! We used Wamplerās sausage and chorizo and made a corn salad, topped with grated cheese and avocado and a crema sauce. š¤¤
What a day at High on the Hog Festival. This was our first time to cook this event and we had a blast. Amanda Mills Blackledge and the kids were able to come and enjoy the event. Iām thinking Gus rode every ride possible at the carnival. We turned out a solid cook with a strong field of 39 teams.

4th overall.
Congrats to the Day 1 GC Pork Life Competition BBQ Team and 931 BBQ on RGC and to all those those that heard their name called.
Congrats to the Day 2 GC Blue Falcon BBQ and to the RGC Norala BBQ Team with a 180 chicken.

We had a great time at smoke on the falls in Gasdsen. The weather turned out absolutely gorgeous and the event was a blast.
