All Advent Calendar pre-orders are shipping tomorrow. If you want to join in the fun and treat yourself or a loved one to some local-made care and pampering there are still calendars available. This year I have partnered with Maxwell's Honey Bee Farm and Sicily Fish Flowers to bring some special additions to the calendars.

You can find all four options on the Twigloo Farms Etsy shop. They are available until the end of the month or they sell out.

After a lively, and brisk, market yesterday my season has come to an end. I am already looking forward to next year. It was wonderful to meet and see everyone each week.

I had a lot of folks asking, so as a reminder you can always check the Local Shops section of twigloofarms.com for locations where you can find my work year round. I do also have some events coming up in November. I will be at Schutts Apple Mill on November 9th and at Maxwell's Honey Bee Farm on November 30th for our Small Business Saturday event. I am bringing some gorgeous seasonal solid lotion bars with me to Webster's Joe Obbie Farmers' Market, Inc. as well.

It is finally cool enough. A glorious selection of spooky solid lotion bars are coming with me to Webster's Joe Obbie Farmers' Market, Inc. tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last Webster's Joe Obbie Farmers' Market, Inc. of the season. I am bringing along some special treats, including a 12-day advent calendar.

It is always a pleasure to work with Maxwell's Honey Bee Farm and Sicily Fish Flowers. Having local honey, propolis, flowers, and herbs helps me make the skin-loving care products I am so proud to share with you.

Today was especially fun as I was picking up the final elements for my advent calendars. Three of the calendars will include a selection of offerings from those two incredible businesses, as well as soaps, lotions, soap savers, and other Twigloo items (one calendar, as labeled, is made up more simply of soap).

Advent calendars are available for pre order now on the shop Etsy, and will start shipping soon. Keep an eye out on my in-person appearances as I might just have one or two with me.

And you can always contact me if you are local and interested in a calendar.

Did you know I make dog shampoo? It is available exclusively through my good friend Dough Face Dog Treats. It is formulated for canine companions with sensitive skin - though you should always do a patch test when using any new product, dog or human. A little neem oil helps repel fleas and is soothing for the skin, but also means this shampoo is not for the very young or seniors. Avoid use on pregnant or nursing dogs as well.

Essential oil use is a bit touchy with animals. As noted with the addition of neem oil above, every ingredient has a function and an impact. These bars are usually kept unscented to make them as safe as possible. You will occasionally see me use just a little bit of lavender essential oil, which is safe in limited amounts. But that is mostly to counter the rich and somewhat nutty smell of the neem oil. Most often I leave the bars smelling naturally of neem.

Rinse thoroughly after use, and if you want you can use a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse to make sure you remove any residue.

Its that time of year again. Advent calendars will start to ship the first week of November, and are available through Thanksgiving or until they sell out. They are so fun to put together and I hope you love them.

I have four different calendar configurations this year, available through the shop Etsy.

The simplest is the 12 Day Soap Sample Calendar - Soap Only. It contains 12 individually wrapped and stamped soap samples.

Slightly Fancier is the 12 Day Soap Sample Advent Calendar. It contains sample bars (half of a bar), a solid lotion, a soap saver, and treats from Maxwell's Honey Bee Farm and Sicily Fish Flowers.

You could also try the 12 Day Soap Advent Calendar. Full bars of soap, a holiday solid lotion, a handcrafted soap dish, and treats from Maxwell's and Sicily Fish Flowers.

Finally there is the 24 Day Soap Sample Advent Calendar. Half-bar samples, a mix of other shop products, and treats from Maxwell's and Sicily Fish Flowers.

There are a limited number of calendars available, and you can order them from the shop Etsy until Thanksgiving.

If you are local and want to pick up instead of have a calendar shipped, reach out. I can also do a limited number of 24 day full bar calendars on request, but these will be local pick up only.

On November 1st I will remove the 'pre-order' from the listings on the shop Etsy and calendars will start shipping.

It's finally persimmon season. Over the next couple of weeks you will see persimmon soaps make their way to the website, shops, and event tables.

Citrusy persimmon soap was a best seller last season. Did you have a favorite persimmon-infused soap?

The display at Sweet Indulgence Pastries has had a complete refresh. Halloween and Autumn soaps, scrubs, lotions...come take a look. And don't forget to grab a snack while you are there.

If you have never tried pawpaw you are missing out. To me they smell, and taste, a bit like banana cream pie. I was lucky enough to snag a few while at Embers Rising Farm this weekend for their maple festival.
