Our age group has had many losses during the pandemic year. We try to stay positive and focus on the things that we have. But not seeing grandchildren -- missing their milestone events such as graduation -- unable to attend the funeral of a long-time friend, all of these are significant losses and we need to find a way to acknowledge our grief.
It’s OK to Grieve for the Small Losses of a Lost Year There is a name for grief that isn’t routinely acknowledged: disenfranchised grief.
At age 40, I went to University and changed career paths. Could not have done it without the support of my husband and kids. Great decision.
