Hopes Closet Birmingham

Our July serve was a great success, the families in the Moton Community were able to select clothes, shoes and School supplies thanks to Church of the Highlands and Hopes Closet.

A special thank you to all the volunteers that showed up to help setup and take down and love on those who came to receive.

Our big serve for July 13th will be at the Moton Community Center in Leeds again this year. We will begin give away at 11 and close at 1:00 PM. Location is

We were not able to serve in June at the Dream Center due to weather and we will not be back there until September 7th. August is too hot and we take that month off. Put 9/7 on your calendar and we will see you at the Dream Center in Woodlawn.

June serve is this Saturday 6/1/24 at
5705 1st Avenue North at the Dream Center. We will be giving away clothes from 11 until 1. If raining this serve will be cancelled and a notification will be posted here.

May serve will be 5/4 from 11-1 at the Dream Center in Woodlawn. Weather is questionable so if raining this event will be cancelled. Update will be posted here if cancelled. 5705 first Avenue north

It was a wonderful day, we served 140 people and due to the television report on the closet we received a good supply of new items to put out for our next serve.

Our March serve will be at Woodlawn Dream Center on 3/2 from 11 - 1. If cancelled due to rain an update will be posted here.

Our serve on 2/3 was so exciting. We served 123 individuals. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to make this a great day. Next serve will be on March 2nd, location to be determined.

We had an amazing day at the Woodlawn Dream Center with 113 people served and literally 100s of pieces of clothing given away. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Special thanks to all the volunteers that helped make this serve event a success.

Our next event will be 11/4 at the Woodlawn Dream Center from 11 until 1.

UPDATE:

The event was the most successful ever, we served 136 families and gave away over 200 bags of clothes.

October 7 we will be outside Legion Field on 6th Avenue West in front of the Legion Field sign just behind the Fire Station. We will open for shopping at 11 and close at 1. Hope to see all those who have needs.

Our September serve will be at the Woodlawn Dream Center on Saturday 9/2. We will open for shopping at 11:00 and close their shopping experience at 1:00. We have been off for the month of August and look forward to seeing old and new friends. Spread the word to friends and family with clothing needs.

August is an off month for the closet. We will be back in September. At this time the location is still pending but as soon as we are notified it will be posted.

We are partnering with other groups at Greystone campus to give away clothes and school supplies.

We had a great response on June 3rd in the Park Place area downtown. 57 individuals were served and lots of prayers with individuals. Thank you all for your support!

On June 3, we will be serving those in the Park Place community in the Y's parking lot with setup at 10 and take down at 1. The address is 2400 7th Avenue M, 35203. Please tell your friends or anyone that has a need for clothing. It is all free!

On May 6th we will be giving away clothes at the Church of the Highlands Dream Center, located 5705 1st Avenue North, 35213. We will open at 11 and close at 1. If you are in need please feel free to come and shop with us. Bags are provided for your items, prayer is available if interested as well. Pass the word around, we have clothes for all ages including shoes and under garments while supplies last, Selection is best if you come early.

April serve was again in Avondale on April 1st. We served 70 people, the day was beautiful! Thanks to all the volunteers who help to make the serve possible.

We had a great serve in March at the MLK rec center in South Avondale. So happy to see some regulars and many new friends.

Today we had a very successful day at the Dream Center we served 68 people and had 10 volunteers. People went home with bags and bags of clothing. Looking forward to serving in March. Will post our next location when decided.

we will be giving away clothes on 2/4/23 at the Woodlawn DreamCenter, from 11 AM until 1 PM, weather is projected to be sunny and 54 degrees with no treat of rain. However if it should rain this event will be cancelled.

Unfortunately the weather has not cooperated today so we are canceling the event in Woodlawn. Keep checking back to see where we will be next.

December 3rd we will be giving away clothes at the Woodlawn campus of Church of the Highlands. We will open at 11:30 and close at 1:30.

Our last serve was in Woodlawn and the Dream Center.
