Conference of Afikpo Medical and Dental Doctors - CAMD

Today is World Sight Day.
The just concluded CAMD free medical outreach gave our people lots of gifts, but today is a good day to reflect on the gift of sight.
The Eye team led by Dr. Mrs Helen Ginger Eke provided free consultation, medications, reading glasses and even surgeries.
It is exciting to know that due to the hard work of our dear CAMD members we were able to give our people the gift of sight.
Thank you to the eye team and the entire CAMD community.

It's day one of our medical outreach.
It has taken months of planning to make today a success.
Thanks to the people of Afikpo and to the diligent health workers of Afikpo for volunteering for this event.

CAMD Secondary School Outreach

On Friday July 21, 2023, The Conference of Afikpo Medical and Doctors- CAMD embarked on a Secondary School Outreach in three secondary schools in Afikpo

Uwana Comprehensive Secondary School
Amasiri Comprehensive Secondary School
Akpoha Comprehensive Secondary School.

In each school, CAMD was given a warm welcome by the staff and students at the school. CAMD also gave the students talks on academic excellence and shunning social vices.
In each of the schools, CAMD gave an award of 5000 naira cash to the overall best students (from the previous session) in the classes JSS1, JSS2, SS1 and SS2.
The second and third best students were gifted exercise books and writing materials.

Additionally, CAMD gave a token of 5000 to appreciate the teaching staff in each of the schools.

In the words of Dr Okoro Sylvanus in his speech to the students in Akpoha Comprehensive Secondary School
“ Our target is to come and inform you that the opportunities up there are not yet saturated, there are spaces left for you to come and occupy .”

Indeed, the opportunities are boundless, and we hope that through projects like this, Afikpo youths are motivated and mentored to harness them.
We are grateful to the CAMD chairman, Dr Uduma Victor U. and the entire CAMD community for entrusting us with this task.

Our first ever Secondary school outreach program comes on Friday, July 21, 2023.
We will be visiting secondary schools in Afikpo.
It is important to mentor a future generation of Afikpo intellectuals.
