it takes courage to heal
to take down the walls
to move away from abuse
to let go of a relationship
that makes you feel ashamed
of who you are...
what you accept in your life

it takes courage
to stand up
to believe in your truth
to say that who you are today
is not who you are tomorrow
to cry
to be angry
to be resentful

to believe that you deserve peace
deserve love
acknowledgment
a flower
a kind word
a hug...
be seen
and held in arms of compassion
