Possible sonic booms!! SpaceX launches a Falcon Heavy rocket carrying the U.S. military's secretive X-37B spaceplane. Liftoff from historic launch pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. EST, Thursday, December 28, 2023. It will be the fifth Falcon Heavy launch this year. The twin side boosters will return to land at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station about eight and a half minutes into flight.

History, speed, and endurance. Three racing elements that define the Ford GT40. Originally built to compete and win at Sebring and Le Mans, the Ford GT40 won her first race in 1965 at the Daytona Continental 2000-Kilometer Race. The Birthplace of Speed witnessed the beginning of a racing legend. After a brief celebration, the GT40 went on to place second at Sebring but a win at Le Mans would have to wait.
To complete the racing dream, the engineers at Ford built nine cars, assembled over 100 personnel, and brought tons of spare parts to win at Le Mans. The few changes they made paid off. They won in France at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

That accomplishment took place in 1966. The racing world was about to encounter a historic car and winning streak that would put the Ford GT40 into legendary status. The GT40 would win again at Le Mans in 1967, 1968 and again in 1969.

Ford had a vision of engineering a winning racing machine in under 10 years. It took its rival, Ferrari, decades. To honor the achievements of the GT40, Ford created a specialized VIN number for each of the first seven cars produced. Each car’s VIN number started with Ford GT and after that each car’s VIN number stated with GT40.

Vision. Talent. Perseverance. The team of engineers and drivers took on challenges, learned from mistakes, and created a racing legend. The Ford GT40 opened the possibilities to what could be and took it to another level.
