Well it finally happened, the city (not their fault) sent out some idiot cutter to do the grass and for whatever reason they decided to cut down 98% of the flowers too 😢😡
We can’t be too mad because we knew it might happen but FFS why would you even waste time trying to cut the flowers when you’re only contracted to do the grass…
We’ve got to do better.

Once a week we like to do litter pick up around our block, I keep thinking if we pick up enough we’ll stop filling the trashcan each week but it never stops… 😢

Well… we tried to tell you all, we No Mow Lawns. But do to popular request and because we can do it cleaner and better, we’ve decided to expand our services to include regular lawn and garden maintenance.

And we are just so excited to be able to offer a clean electric option for this! (Yes, we know that battery production is bad too and it takes time to “pay back” that carbon footprint but, with how much we are using our equipment we’ve already paid that back and everything from here on out is clean and clear). it’s perfect world but we are doing our best.

We saved this beautiful lady (and about 6 praying mantises as well as countless grasshoppers) while taking care of an empty lot. Any other company would of mowed right over these beautiful apex predators.

And while you all may not like the creepy crawlers they are so important for the local biome and do so much work keeping other pests under control.

It’s time we develop a new relationship with nature, a beautiful and balanced one that gives us what we need while allowing nature to thrive around us too.

We are just so excited to see this guy in our neighborhood. We’ve been here for 3 years and never had birds of prey around but, for the last three years we’ve been building bio-diversity around our little home and yard. We’ve planted a lot of wildflowers to attract smaller birds and insects, we’ve hung bird feeders and houses, we’ve added some watering spots, and etc. So seeing a bird of prey come in to check out the area really shows we’re having the sort of positive impact needed to make nature thrive.

Want to see something cool about mini-clover… pun intended 😎😂

First, we have dead dry grass, ground temp around 100F.

Green grass temp at 84F.

And dense multiculture clover, 70F.

That means mini-clover is 15 to 30 degrees cooler than a monoculture grass lawn!

That means with enough of it planted around out cities we could have a huge impact on temperatures and power consumption.

Update on the abandoned lot, wild flowers are coming in and the clover we added to the grass is starting to come in and slow down the grass growth. Other free lots near us have been mowed 2 and 3 times since this one was touched last 😊☘️

It took a couple days but we finally got this empty lot cleaned up and mostly broken glass free. The stones were preventing normal mowing so we dug a lot of them out (and alot of trash) in order to make a rock cairn habitat. The plot has been seeded with clover and wild flowers, will update again once we get some growth ☘️🌻🥰

Mini clover and meadow lawns are so much better for the environment and you! Visit our site to learn about converting your lawn today.

Lawn Maintenance and Climate Change — PSCI 07/11/2023

Why is converting your lawn to low maintenance Mini-Clover so beneficial to the environment?

There’s 40 million acres of lawn in the US, and we use 817 million gallons of gas and 3 million tons of nitrogen based fertilizers to service it each year!

This gas will be burned in dirty little engines making it far worse than what cars or trucks exhaust.

Producing the nitrogen based fertilizers also contribute 4-5 million tons of carbon and the fertilizers themselves will produce nitrous oxide from the lawn which is even worse than the carbon.

And this is what makes low maintenance, nitrogen fixing, mini clover such a great choice for the environment.

On average you can reduce mowing 75 to 100%

The plant also has numerous benefits for soil, air, and water quality. It aerated soil, it fixed nitrogen reducing run off, and it stays green throughout the year to help capture more carbon.

Increasing biodiversity is a wonderful way to help your local environment and the environment at large. It’s going to take a whole lot of us doing it though but, that’s okay, you can start today 😊
