The next Safe Place virtual meeting is happening this Wednesday, April 19th at 6PM. Samaritans Southcoast offers free support to loss survivors who have lost loved ones to su***de. Their service focuses on non-judgmental listening, compassion, and peer support through Safe Place, a grief support group facilitated by trained Samaritans volunteers.

Our event is happening TOMORROW and we have some updates! We are excited to hold this forum for our community and look forward to seeing all those who resgistered at 3:30PM. However, please note that we have decided to combined the two sessions into one due to low registration for our evening session. But don't worry, if you were planning on coming to the second session, we will be there for anyone who has questions, needs to talk or support. Plus, New Bedford Cable Access will be filming our 3:30PM session.

Mental health challenges have swept the country and more and more families are impacted. There is no better time than the present for open and honest discussions about mental health. This workshop will review the current status of mental health, factors that contribute to the current crisis, and discuss the path to wellness. Participants will leave information, resources and strategies to support mental health recovery for themselves and/or their loved ones.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of local community organizations have been meeting to strategize response efforts for those most vulnerable in our communities. Having identified mental health as a critical need for many, these organizations have come together to create a campaign in effort to end stigma and strengthen mental health, aptly named, Help and Hope Southcoast.
