Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase “Always be prepared!”? We make plans for vacations, weekly schedules, family gatherings, and how we want our life to go. . .but what if our plans aren’t good for us?

How can we know God’s plans for us, trust that they are what’s best, and learn how to accept His leading? Psalms 37:5 says to “commit your way to the Lord.” God wants to hear from you. When you’re praying about the things you want in life, surrender them to Him by saying “If it is Your will.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit him, and he will make your paths straight.” Even when life doesn’t make sense, or isn’t going the way we thought it would, we can trust that God is who He says He is, an all-powerful, all-good, all-knowing God.

He has a plan for you, and you can trust that it’s better than any plan you could make for yourself.

So grateful for sister time. We are complete for the next few weeks which is such a joy.

Growing up, my parents told us to be kindest and nicest to our siblings and family, more so than to our friends. In other words, value and respect one another and prioritize each other. Because of this family culture, my sisters and I, along with my brothers are all close. We are family, but we are also the best of friends.

There is so much wounding that happens in this life, and family provides that emotional cushioning to get us through hard times. It’s also one of the most effective ways for family members to experience the love of God. If family members love God and love one another, it’s easier to believe that God is good, loving, and desires what’s best for us.

I am so grateful to the Lord for family members who not only love God, but live out his love to one another.

They loved me during the hardest seasons of my life, and when I was (and still am at times) a hard person to love. ❤️

God prepared great things for you.

You are called to serve God. Growing up, you may have thought that being “called” by God was something only missionaries, pastors, nuns, and other “full-time” church workers experienced, but the Bible says every Christian is called to service.

Your call to salvation included your call to service. They are the same. Regardless of your job or career, you are called to full-time Christian service. A “non-serving Christian” is a contradiction in terms.

The Bible says, “He saved us and called us to be his own people, not because of what we have done, but because of his own purpose” (2 Timothy 1:9 GNT). Peter adds, “You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you” (1 Peter 2:9 GW).

Don’t get discouraged. When Habakkuk became depressed because he didn’t think God was acting quickly enough, God had this to say:

“These things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!” (Habakkuk 2:3 TLB).
