🌲🚣‍♂️ Adirondack Adventures in the Saint Regis Canoe Area! 🚣‍♀️🌲

Just returned from an incredible trip guiding in the stunning Saint Regis Canoe Area of the Adirondacks!

One of the highlights was introducing clients to paddling for the very first time. Watching their faces light up with each new stroke and each beautiful view was truly rewarding. From mastering the basics to soaking in the serene landscapes, their enthusiasm made the experience even more special. We fished, hiked, and paddled our way through some of the best NY has to offer.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined and made this adventure unforgettable. If you’re curious about getting out on the water or just getting outside in general, hit me and Destination Backcountry Adventures up. Big thanks to them for coordinating this adventure.

In addition to guiding backcountry trips, I volunteer as an EMT and serve as a CPR and First Aid Instructor. As a member of the Grafton Rescue Squad, we were able to offer a free course to some of our community members. Always great to help educate the public and keep families safe.

It's been a busy summer and just getting around to posting awesome pics from a trip a few months back. Any day in the woods is a good day.

How you know you had a wet weekend in the woods...

Every guided adventure I go on, I feel refreshed and excited I was able to share my passion for nature with new faces. I was joined on this trip by a number guides I've never met, but inevitably within a day or two, we are family. Leading a multifamily outdoor excursion takes tons of logistics and Destination Backcountry Adventures nailed it once again!

Love the bond nature cultivates for both guides and clients. The ability to unplug from the madness of life is always needed but often ignored. Hit me up and let's unplug together!

Thanks to the DBA team and Brooklyn Adventure Company for another killer weekend!

Kicked off the spring season with a hike of two of the Catskill 3500. Teamed up with my friends at Destination Backcountry Adventures and had a great crew out on the trails. Nothing like unwinding from the hustle of everyday life with a challenging weekend adventure.

Looking forward to a few upcoming trips and CPR/First Aid Courses, but savored every minute of this one.

Your backdoor is wherever you are; just get out there and enjoy it. Don't let anything limit your adventurous spirit as you look forward to your 2024.

2023 was an adventure, as every year is, and as we flip the calendar to a new year, plan to take care of yourself, do something that scares you, learn a new skill, be uncomfortable, have fun, call a friend, pull family close (or push them away if you have to), and most importantly, don't underestimate the power of the outdoors.

Here's to a new year y'all.

I had the best setting for CPR and first aid class the other evening. Happy to help the Dyken Pond staff get ready for their camp season.

Happy to get out and teach another CPR course.

A big thank you to Ryan Sams from TVA & Raymond DeWire from Grafton Rescue Squad for instructing today's CPR Certification course! Be on the lookout for our next course announcement.

Future trips and adventures coming soon. Reach out if you have something special in mind.

Great getting into the woods and leading an ambitious group of hikers today. The fall colors were in full effect. Those colors won't last much longer so get out and enjoy them in the coming days.

Thanks to and for setting this up and working out all the logistics.

Excited to get back out there again this weekend with Destination Backcountry Adventures and Brooklyn Adventure Company. If you're looking to get out and see the burst of upstate NY colors, reach out to me soon. It won't last long!

Learning to camp can always be a bit daunting, but it doesn't have to be that way. I had the honor to guide an awesome group of people with some of the best guides in the game. Big shout out to Destination Backcountry Adventures for helping coordinate this trip. Fall is definitely here, but fall and winter have some amazing hiking and adventures. Until next time.

Learning to primitive and backpack camp can seem overwhelming, but we made this weekend full of fun and learning. Hopefully we see all these faces out on the trail and in camp again soon.

Destination Backcountry Adventures sets up some pretty awesome trips and this one was a great way for some to learn how to make the outdoors fun, safe, and enjoyable. Big shout out to Brooklyn Adventure Company for rocking our logistics (sorry we came out of the woods behind schedule, we were just having too much fun!) and Siegrid for all the support and knowledge.

Another great weekend in the woods. Love guiding these corporate outings as I get to meet a bunch of great people and work with some pretty awesome guides. Shoutout to Destination Backcountry Adventures, West Mountain Guide Co., Hike On Guides , State Hiker , and Ripvanwinkle Adventure Guides.

Guided an awesome small group that enjoyed all that Harriman State Park has to offer. When I got back into backpacking a decade ago, Harriman was the place due to its close proximity to the city and intimate trail system. If you live in or near the city, check it out!

In addition to offering outdoor adventure guiding in New York and across the northeast, we also offer CPR and safety training courses. We can work around your schedule to make classes convenient for you.

With camp and lake season upon us, our schedule is filling out with classes for staff to help meet DOH requirements. We can help prospective NYS wilderness guides achieve the certifications they require to become a licensed guide in New York. Or we can simply help you and your family be prepared for all that life throws your way.

Course offerings and schedules are customizable. Send us a message to inquire about pricing and availability.

Spent another great weekend in the woods with Destination Backcountry Adventures, West Mountain Guide Co., and Brooklyn Adventure Company. We worked with a diverse group of guides and apprentices who had plenty of knowledge to share. So happy to be part of this community and share what I can.

Big shout out to my daughter who joined for some outdoor learning and free snacks. She also took most of these pictures which turned out awesome!

Had a great weekend with Destination Backcountry Adventures sharing knowledge and absorbing all that my fellow guides had to share.

We spent the weekending hiking, orienteering, building fires, sharing experiences, and most importantly, laughing.

Thanks to DBA, Upstate Adventure Guides, West Mountain Guide Co, and fellow guides and apprentice guides for a great weekend.

Stoked to be kicking off the guiding season this weekend with Destination Backcountry Adventures and West Mountain Guide Co. down in the Catskill Mountains. On the schedule, over two days, is team building and skills sessions for all of our DBA guides, apprentices, children of guides, and possibly pets.

Skills sessions will include wilderness safety, map and compass skills, stewardship, and hopefully, some fishing.

Ponds to Peaks Guide Services offers guided hikes, fishing trips, and backcountry adventures. Trips are fully customizable and can be easy and relaxing or as challenging as you wish. In addition to guide services, we provide American Red Cross and American Safety and Health Institute courses in BLS, first aid, CPR, lifeguarding, water safety, and wilderness first aid.

Outdoor adventures have been a part of my entire life, from the time as an Eagle Scout until my COVID-inspired motivation to get my guide license. This passion project allows me to give back and help others experience all that the outdoors has to offer.

John Muir said it best, of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.
