We used 4 dental implants with a removable upper over denture.

We have better access for maintenance and remedial work and the patients oral hygiene will also be better with a removable prosthesis.

Upper cosmetic case with Emax veneers ✨

Patient requested to keep her UR1/UL1 as natural teeth as she liked the appearance of them.

We also placed a single implant LR6 and UL6 🤩

This patient had 2 existing lower implants with ball attachments and a lower denture, they were placed about 10 years previously in another practice.

The denture kept dislodging and moving when eating.

I placed 2 additional implants so that we could use a milled titanium bar with locator attachments on the bar.

The over denture has a milled sleeve that fits over the bar perfectly and intimately.

The fit is absolutely superb and extremely stable during function. Oh & it also looks amazing 🤩

This patient had a long history of neglect and addiction.

He presented with a terminal dentition and a massive shortage of bone.

Restored with:

▫️Classic all-on-4 upper and lower utilising available hard tissues

▫️Fixed immediate loaded temporary bridges to avoid the need for dentures, which the patient knew he would not be able to tolerate

▫️Final screw retained fixed bridges………patients choice was for a bit of yellow gold on one side and silver on the other! He loved it!

A fabulous 2 days on Modules 5 & 6 of my Restorative Programme over the last couple of days.

An intense 2 days with loads of practical experience in the superbly equipped clinical skills room. Everything relating to crowns was the topic! Crown preps, what to use when and where, impression taking, materials, laboratory communication were all covered.

Our delegates worked extremely hard and are now equipped with this knowledge and skill to put into practice tomorrow in the surgery.

It’s lovely to get back to a traditional prosthodontic full mouth reconstruction!

Yes, I place loads of implants, but sometimes the correct route can be through a more time honoured and traditional crown and bridge reconstruction!

This case involved a reorganised occlusion with an increase in vertical dimension.

After initial (reorganised) diagnostic work, full arch PMMA provisionals were fitted to refine the occlusal and aesthetic scheme.

After this, the provisionals were converted to layered zirconia restorations,

Traditional and time honoured techniques work well in the right cases

Full upper and lower arch implant supported bridgework.

This lady had to loose all her remaining teeth due to periodontal ( gum) disease, so initially had to have temporary dentures.
After a couple of months for healing, we were able to place same day teeth in the form of implant supported fixed bridges.

Finally, the permanent porcelain bridges were fitted 3 months later.

Well, it’s been a fantastic two days coaching and teaching enthusiastic, young, like minded dentists.

Now in its 11th year, after a 3 year break since the pandemic ( for no other reason that life and clinical dentistry has just been so busy) it is wonderful to get back to teaching young dentists techniques that will increase their confidence and skills.

I absolutely love it 🙏
