Hunt's End - Deer Skull mounts

I just finished this emotional project for a deceased buddy of mine. His mom's two biggest bucks. Both taken in his spots I believe.

Alll skinned out. Doing two heads as a free gift in honor of my late buddy. His mom took two bucks, one in muzzleloader season and the other one during Buck Week with a shotgun. I asked her what she would like ??? She's said surprise her. I have a neat idea. Stay posted. 😉

Dropped off customer's restoration work. It was in bad shape.

After and before in reverse - Costumer bow shot a buck and left the skull/antlers out in the element. Squirrels/weather took a heavy toll. I was able to restore it. First the antlers then mounting on the most realistic reproduction skull on the market.

My wife is such a good sport. Pretending she killed a monster buck back in the good o'l days. ( Helping me Promote my restoration job on the rack.) She's holding our first daughter's Wi******er single shot 16 ga. that I got her when she was pregnant with her about 6 years ago. Apparently the gunsmith told me the gun has some great value and not to alter it.

Just received a package with another restoration project. Nice mass on these "chewed up" short main beams. They will also be mounted on a reproduction skull. Can't wait to start. Stay posted.

Another one in the works. Client killed this deformed looking buck back in the 1990's and had it hung above his shed door. The rack was heavily chewed up and skull plate completely split apart. Full antlers/color restoration in the near future including a full reproduction skull.

Another reproduction skull. This rack/skull done in copper color. This particular buck came from a fallen apart shoulder mount taken back in the 1970's. The hunter was 16 at the time.

Good morning. Step by step restoration in reverse. Southern Jersey matching sheds with reproduction skull.

I made this from a vintage neck/shoulder mount that I took apart and was shocked seeing a full skull including jaw. As you can see on the bottom I included the photo of the original mount and actually was able to get it professionally aged by a lab. The buck was 8.5 years old at time of death. My guess mount was done early 1900's - late 1800's. Zoom in !!!!
