where and when I scratch around in my pockets for scraps and choices to unfold. And how the most ordinary thing might become a ritual that holds me in the stillness of a solitary life. Ask me what there is in it: there is beauty in this ~the choosing of my own life as it is right now, but also the WOW-Window Open Wide so I may throw the tiny seeds of what I hope for, far out into the waiting world, and the ‘Thank You’ that falls from my mouth: Me as The Stoic Wordsmith!

It’s a worthy act of attention and appreciation to pause and turn our gaze inward looking closely on something at its inner loveliness, not only to tune in to those things that might need tending, but to deliberately seek out the beauty we wish to carry in our heart. To do so is an act of love and reverence. I’m referring to gathering the experiences of beauty that light up our entire being. They can happen in countless ways and unexpected places — I gently feel a subtle shift, hear a wordless message or sense a stirring of emotion. I let the moment imprint itself in my memory with my fingers closed close to my chest. Each time this happens, I believe I’m creating an inner refuge of strength that will be there for me that I needed most no matter what whenever and wherever I am.

Inside by my window: A morning blue sky and towering pine treetops against a backdrop of a Mini-Desert Garden close to the high fenced wall. My passion for Gardening has been my ritual of hope, a hopeless goal in a future I still cannot see. I just put my fingers in the dirt and trust that someday, ‘Some Seed Life’ stalks up, stems out wide and furled petals will push through from the Dark Brown Earth down below. Sometimes, my hope feels like a fool’s errand protecting me from more hurt and heartbreaks, but it surprises me with Gracious Goodness I couldn’t have imagined, from where I’ve began with my soft fragile fingers in the dirt, staring down at nothing. Somehow, this year's time, ~Autumn~ makes me Hopeful and Tender on a never so few endings: goodbyes and milestones of all kinds. I’ve realized that Life show a handful of people holding on to hope with both hands on their chests, still planting and waiting for a much better life, but staring down at blank Mother Earth, and seemingly other humans waiting and hoping for what seems like forever. And now ‘Something’ has bloomed: Newer LIFE from a dream long held coming to be real to my Window View, because it has kept me for so long hoping, watching and waiting. Never had hopeful answers, but surely, I do have a Hopeful Sign for what can grow more for a much Longer Life. Such is the grand gesture of Nature’s Fall’s Falling Leaves ~Four Seasons~ freely showing us to see the Beauty of Change:

I purposely revisited Ethel's Chocolate & Cacti Garden twice Chocolate & Cacti Garden twice ~the 1st Time in 2011 & 2nd Time just last Sunday on Mothers' Day. It was the first time since the Pandemic began, and it was just the relaxation & peace that I needed on a Summer Sunny Morning. I walked, bent. knelt & strolled slowly taking pics of weird plants that I love (pretty rounds & columnars) as well, as they allow me to see the beautiful thorny beautiful plants visible to the Third Eye that sees. My joy in Cacti Gardening rests in finding different ways of seeing, whether it’s noticing a tiny succulent one might otherwise step past, or gathering features that would highlight my Goal for my Would Be Green House back home one day soon. The Garden is a Perfect Getaway Place to actively meditate by peaceably & peacefully living My Living Zen!
