The Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missile has been around for a while, but it's still a solid, reliable weapon system, seen here being used by the 173rd Airborne Brigade at 7th Army Training Command's Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany.

Defender’s significance is it will involve the biggest movement of U.S. based forces to Europe in more than 25 years. Over 37,000 U.S., allied, and partner nation service members are expected to participate, including 20,000 from the United States mainland. In total, 18 nations are expected to be involved including two partner nations.
