This axe is inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft
I took it apart and undid the original finish on the metal portions of the axe.
I engraved the symbol/design directly into the metal, then forced a patina.
I applied several layers of clearcoat to protect the metal.
I then rebolted the nylon scales.
