Flex on em’ .firsdon.

One of the most humble, hardworking individuals I’ve had the pleasure to work with and I can not wait to watch her play at the next level. Literally think she would have ran through a wall for me when we were training.

Thanks for including me on this special day 🙏.

27 of our TVC athletes showed up to the weight room yesterday to get better at 8pm.

We put up some numbers, moved the weight fast, and worked on our verticals.

Best part about it we had fun while doing it and everyone made sure we got the workout done. The schedule isn’t always going to be the greatest as an athlete but you’re always going to get out what you put in.

Good work showing up ladies 💪. The culture and atmosphere we are building is unbeatable.

Merry Christmas 😁

We tried to get Oakley to pose for us but he was not a fan of the cold cement (rightfully so). So I hope you can appreciate the best picture we could take in the 30 seconds I could have him sit by me.

Always appreciate getting asked to be at signing days. Congrats Payton it’s been awesome being able to work with you over the past few years and I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish up in Northern Michigan!

Strength and Conditioning:
What do we know about it and why does it scare us?

It seems to me a lot of people don't recognize strength and conditioning as a necessity to an athletes career. I hear more and more about skill work and skill development every single day. The problem is a lot of kids don't honestly know how to do the basics which are running, jumping, and stopping.

Strength and Conditioning isn't just about lifting weights and getting big. It's developing an athlete as a whole and there is a science behind it. Unfortunately we don't prioritize a standard when it comes to our youth athletes.

Why is that? The long-term development of an athlete would be improved so much if this was a priority in our schools and in our athletes lives. Strength creates resilience and if done properly as an athlete grows will help decrease the risk of injuries over time.

Do you know what your "WHY" is? Have you ever truly sat down and thought about it?

I've attached a short article to this post that may help with this. Identifying your WHY is important in any persons life. It helps motivate us, it helps us keep moving forward, and it allows us to never forget why we started.

Take a minute to look through this article and if you feel like it go ahead and share your WHY in the comments below.

As a strength coach there is more to the job than just going in and putting your athletes through a workout. Maybe I am wrong but the amount of energy I invest into my athletes and teams because I won't settle for mediocre is exhausting.

Not everyone is trying to play sports in college but I do know some that want the chance to so if you're playing a team sport remember not to ruin your teammates chances because you didn't care enough.

Only about 7% of high school athletes go on to play in college.

Let that sink in.

Youth physical development has often been misunderstood and debated among coaches and trainers.

While doing some of my continuing education I pulled these development models for both males and females. I thought they would be helpful for those that may be confused on this topic or need some guidance.

One thing I find interesting about this chart is the number one physical quality that does not change importance through the life of the athlete is Strength which is sometimes neglected in sports.

These were pulled from the High-Performance Training For Sports Book

Welcome to my facebook business profile! As I navigate through a new path in my career as a strength and conditioning coach I wanted to make it a little more personal so parents and athletes can connect with me better.

Moving forward I will use this page to post updates, photos, videos and even content that I hope can help all of the people who follow me with their fitness.

I am truly blessed to work with the individuals, teams, and clubs that I work with and I can't wait to continue to keep creating relationships while still pursuing my number one goal in our community which is to help people.

Thank you and I appreciate every single one you.
