New product currently being tested. 2 1/4 inch diameter wooden bottle openers with custom laser engraved logos. Thank you Steinbeck's and Tako N' Madre for trying them out for me.
These were made for the golf tournament. I love being able to customize clocks.
Latest creation being donated to the Leeds Community Club for their golf tourney.
Latest and greatest new item made. Our friends at Tako N' Madre a bottle opener as a test. They will be letting us know how it worked out but I'm pretty happy with the results.
First 10 carved, time to start staining.
Recent work commissioned for the Hinton Blackhawk Girls Wrestling.
Latest creation I'm working on perfecting. The plan is to produce as many of these as possible before May 12th (Mother's Day)
Every project that I work on is special. But this one was truly something I was honored to work on. A woman loved how I made a cross from an old board at my grandpa's and wanted some for her children. She had me make 12 crosses from a picnic bench her late husband had made years ago. I took apart the 2x6's, planed them, routered them, and stained them to see what you see at the end. We decided to leave the original paint on the backs to give it that extra bit of character. Some things just turn out better than you can ever hope.
A cutting board for my father for Christmas. The laser engraves the bamboo really well.
Laser etched cutting boards were the hot item this Christmas. This one was my brother's gift. My mom was kind enough to provide a clean hand written recipe to make it perfect.
This Santa is working hard at the laser today. Sooooo many cutting boards to be engraved.
Got the apron on and it's time to sand!!!
Just a test run, and a bit off center, but I think we're ready to start engraving some boards with the laser.
This 18" Clock was done with the family crest and used as a guest book for a wedding. What a great idea for something that the couple can look at on a daily basis.
This one is a very personal cross I carved for my grandfather's funeral. I wanted a piece of wood that was on his property and found a board that had been in the weather for unknown amount of years after searching for something in better condition. When cleaning off the dirt and cobwebs I found that it had been used as a marker for a Trench Line when he dug lines for water and sewer. As you can see beneath the rough weathered outside the inside was wonderful. Just like him. We'll miss you John Barkley and hope to see you some day on the other side.
We're getting better at carving the Punisher emblems and even added a Spartan helmet. They are 10" and 11" tall and I'm charging $85 each for these.
Lessons were learned on this one.
2 of the latest files downloaded for carving. 4 hours of carve time. Now to find the time.
Made this many months ago and was waiting till Caleb received it. I was able to provide the infill to the already existing box. I will say the stained colors turned out perfect.
This one was done for my wonderful office neighbors at Ruff Love Dog Grooming. I always love how the wood stands out with the golden oak stain.
Finished this wonderful piece for my brother who no mater what always is there for my construction needs. He said its going in his garage / shop. Hopefully he remembers to be better than Safety Third.
I love putting logos on clocks.
Latest 12" cross. This one was given to my mother for her birthday today. It's a little extra special since the wood is from my father's grandfather's tree he had in the back yard. If you zoom in close to the top left corner of the cross you can see the bore holes from some insects. It came out better than any of the others I've ever done.
This one has the yellow stain on the carved areas. To be honest I like it either way. Just fun to make.
This one turned out sharp and clean. The next one I do will have yellow stain in the grooves. Putting logos on clocks is getting easier and easier.
Sometimes things just don't turn out the way you want to the first time. But as the great Bob Ross once said ""We don't make mistakes -- we just have happy accidents.". So I turned my first round of staining into one of those happy accidents. First round of stain was Golden Oak, but made the wood look like plastic. The second round added was Sedona Red but still was lacking. Last I put a layer of English Chestnut and it turned out great. Thank you Bob, we all miss you and your joy.
A couple more cross files I purchased. The one on the left is a Celtic design, and the one on the right is a rough cross wrapped in thorns. They are turning out pretty well defined.
A new clock design perfect for the handyman's workshop. Clock hands removed for clarity.
It's been a busy start to the week of cross carving.
Guess I'm just jumping on the band wagon with this one. I like how the pine stained, its always a guess.
