Silktail is a pleasingly loud, blown-out-speaker, hard-hitting rock n’ roll affair.
The vocals and delivery recall a blend of several mid-90’s emo bands and musically feels like it's roots could trace back to Husker Du and Dinosaur Jr.

Kicking off GTG Fest 2019 AND releasing their new EP AND doing their live debut is Silktail, the inaugural band at 8:00 on Friday October 11 at The Avenue Cafe. While this is a new project, many of these players have been kicking around the Michigan music scene in bands like Worn Spirit, The Hat Madder, Cave Needles, and Homelife to name a few, and Silktail’s music follows comfortably in the vein of engaging 90s-influenced rock and emo. Check out “Wellspring” and the rest of the GTG Fest comp below, and get ready to give these folks a right proper greeting as a band on Friday!
