'When we look at a poetry less as a form and more as a concept, we can see the poetic all around us:'
In our creation, our movement, how we do things even how we love!

Abra ca dabra! - as I speak, I create

Not much to say rather I would like to show a little of the things that give me joy and satisfaction in this journey of creation...

Wefu is the new girl in the block! She is not yet done dressing, it was the sun that called her out and she could not resist it!

I am beautifully and wonderfully created!
Mimi ni mrembo,
Everything about me is unique!
Na kuongezea k**a Makeda,
Nina rangi ya asali, ardhi na uhai
The shade of my skin,
Is a story
My turban a crown!
A glimpse of my ancestors' royalty memories!
This is me!

Hi there sunshine,

Guess what! I saw mushrooms growing for the first time!
So beautiful! I was able to capture their beauty!
These mushrooms looked so beautiful -
They lay so nice down there complementing the queen!
This brown skin ,
of charm and worth!

Keep claiming your blessings.

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. (Proverbs 16:3)

With love

Very excited to be a part of teaching children to love themselves relentlessly

I guess every story has a beginning, and to be honest I do not know where the thought of making these dolls came from. It was many things all at once – I thank and bless each one of them now. My sisters gifted my daughter Mr. Peculiar. (a cute, white woolen stuffed doll), Yaras love for this doll was fascinating. Her tiny hands would hug the doll tight when she slept, it was so cute. I then started thinking of her having a fabric doll… and dove into pin interest. And for those of you who understand pin interest! The motherland of inspiration! I would scroll for weeks at patterns! Then my husband dared me to try and make one. It took a whole lot of confidence, but we did it. The first Khalai.

Khalai is a African name, a Luhya name meaning very beautiful. To always remind all girls of color, of all shades of colour, how beautiful they are. We come as comfort items, reinforcing that confidence. So every girl can wear her skin high and proud.

This is me, quite unique and divine,
Me, an exquisite beautiful creation,
Me, Gloriously Nubian skinned,
Me, the queen from the land of Sheba!
This is me!

But what is in a name and why are names so important? These arbitrary labels given to us by our parents/guardians_ what do they mean... to us and to them? Do you love your name? Do you own your and wear it with pride?

Mumbi

A little introduction to our doll called Mumbi. Mumbi is the mother of the Agikuyu, the beginning, her name also means "she who shapes" in Kikuyu. Others define her as the creator and very unique, Mumbi to us is also our first, our own created pattern. She is soft to the touch, full on kitenge and wears turban.

We designed this doll for small children and because of this, we have been extra keen on safety, She is easy to wash. Mumbi's can also work as a beautiful house decor.

Mumbi is available for 1000 Kshs

Perhaps starting a business as I start raising a child have come to me at the same time to teach me about patience. The two can really drive me up a wall sometimes_ Sometimes I would wish that my daughter was a bit more independent to release me to the hustle. I once saw a cartoon of women and men racing and the women had hurdles of all the household chores they had to do before returning to the race_ i relate to it fully!

I also sit and wish sometimes that my business was more stable so I did not worry about this and that. It is so crazy, you make it a day at a time, life has taught me to be patient because at the end of every day I always see why i never should have worried in the first place.

Other than we keep doing it and doing it big, I have I have to flaunt logo and artwork created by thank you for your time and creativity in helping us tell our story in a single picture
