Someone once told me that Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear and no concept of the odds against them. I agree.

Embracing the Essence of Exceptional Facilitation
As a facilitator, I believe in setting the right tone for our sessions. It's more than just guiding discussions; it's about creating an atmosphere where every voice is not just heard, but valued. Picture it as holding the space, a sacred space where psychological safety flourishes and diverse perspectives are not just welcomed but celebrated.
Understanding our audience is paramount. We delve into their context, empathize with their needs, and respect their interests. It's like having a finely tuned radar, where we can "read the room" effortlessly, sensing the vibe and understanding each individual's essence in a short span of time. This skill becomes even more crucial in the digital facilitation realm, where nuances can easily be missed.
In our facilitation journey, we ensure that no voice goes unheard. We recognize that introverts might need a gentle nudge to share their invaluable insights amidst the vibrant energy of extroverts. It's about striking that delicate balance where every participant feels empowered to contribute without overshadowing others.
Facilitation, to me, is the art of sculpting a learning environment that enriches every soul present. It's not about imposing decisions but rather guiding the collective towards a shared objective. The path may not always be clear, but with emotional intelligence as our compass, we navigate through unspoken thoughts and diffuse tensions with grace.
Our goal? To foster an environment where inclusivity thrives, where every individual feels not just welcomed, but embraced. It's about creating a safe haven where ideas can flourish, opinions can be challenged, and solutions can be crafted collaboratively.
In essence, an exceptional facilitator is more than just a guide; they are the architects of transformative experiences, weaving threads of understanding and unity among diverse souls, ensuring that every journey is not just meaningful but profoundly enriching for all.

HABARI GANI?! Today's news is IMANI!!!
"The principle and practice of Imani
(Faith) teaches us to believe in the
good and strive constantly to achieve it everywhere and in its most essential,
inclusive and expansive forms. It reminds us that we must have faith in the future and the new world we seek to bring into being in order to imagine and build them. And it is a faith that teaches us to believe that through hard work, long struggle and a whole lot of love and understanding, we can with other oppressed, struggling and progressive peoples reimagine and redraw the map of the world and put in place and develop conditions and capacities for everyone to live in dignity-affirming, life-enhancing and world-preserving ways and come into the fullness of
themselves." - 2023 Annual Founder's Message, Dr. Maulana Karenga
At this big age, I published to books in 2023. The hot one now is my Book Club Journal. It’s beautiful and a great gift idea.

HABARI GANI? KUUMBA!
Today, on this 6th day of Kwanzaa, we celebrate our Creativity.
Creativity is something that has ensured the perpetuity of African Americans. It is Creativity that inspired us to turn the scraps thrown to us in slave fields into delicacies (chitterlings). It was Creativity that compelled us to compose songs to signal others about the paths to "freedom" (Negro Spirituals). It is Creativity that motivates us to find new, innovative ways to fight back when another one of our babies is senselessly murdered (protests, marches, die-ins). You see, Kuumba keeps our hearts beating. Through Kuumba, we utilize our talents to leave our communities better than they were when we inherited them. Kuumba gives us the space to breath and love and BE. Through Kuumba, we can be our truest, fullest, most beautiful selves - unapologetically- and use all of that to cultivate an amazing community of amazing humans.
Kuumba is life!
HARAMBEE!!!!!!!
HABARI GANI?! Today's news is NIA!
On this 5the day of Kwanzaa, we are encouraged to sit in reflection about the goals we've set for ourselves and the work we are doing to achieve them. Even further, we are challenged to set and pursue goals that uplift, improve, and cultivate our beloved community.
"The principle and practice of Nia (Purpose) calls us to do good in and for the world, to pursue and practice freedom, justice, peace, caring, sharing and all that contributes to African and human good and the well-being of the world and all in it. Indeed, the ancestors teach us in the Odu Ifa that we should do things with joy, for humans are divinely chosen and righteously challenged to do good in the world. And they remind us in the Husia that the good we do for others we are also doing for ourselves, for we are building the good and promising world we all want and deserve to live in and to leave as a storehouse of good for those who come after." - 2023 Annual Founder's Message, Dr. Maulana Karenga
HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE! HARAMBEE!!!!!!!
HABARI GANI?! Today's news is UJAMAA!!
We ask ourselves: How am I positively contributing to the cycle of social-emotional-financial wealth in Black communities? What is my role in the caretaking of my family? ... of my beloved community? ... of my beloved planet? Am I doing all that I effectively can? Can I do more?
"Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)
teaches us the principle and practice of shared work and shared wealth. Modeled on the shared harvest, it calls for cooperative work, respect of the rights of the workers and the needs of everyone for a life of dignity and economic security and the conditions and capacities to live a free, good and meaningful life.
