Done it again 🏁, great day at The IPKC and some more silverware 😀...
It was a tough one though!
Random grids, no qualifying.
Heat 1: P11 ➡️ P5 (drop down penalty dropped me to P7)
Heat 2: P9 ➡️ P7, running P4 then pushed off at the last corner of the last lap.
Heat 3: P2 ➡️..... This should have been my heat to make up some points after heat 2 with my front row start but a medical emergency at the track meant we understandably had to delay and ultimately this race was cancelled. Hope the guy taken to hospital is ok 🤞
Final. P8 ➡️ P3!! 💥. One of my best ever drives, brilliant race, absolutely over the moon with the result.
Wright Racing Engines thanks for the power 💪
Happy fathers day to the team boss Mat Iball
Thanks to the IPKC as well, really well organised event, hats off to all of the team 👍
Out again this weekend this time as a guest for The IPKC round 3 at Hooton. Having to run as #101 as someone else has my usual number 10 😀
Weathers been pretty bad today but showed some good pace in the wet conditions.
Random grids tomorrow so I'll be starting P11, P9 and P2 for my races tomorrow.
Round 5 Race Report
Saturday practice was mega, putting some really fast sessions in and improving on my times from the last round.... And didn't break anything 😁
Feeling positive for Sunday we went out in qualifying with brand new slicks fitted but I was a bit too keen too early and spun it on to the in field (like last time!) and struggled to get back on the track, when I finally did the back bumper bolt had snapped so that was session over. Qualifying P17 out of a large 24 kart grid!
Race 1 P17 ➡️ P10
Race 2 P10 ➡️ P9
Final P9 ➡️ P6
Earning my first trophy after 5 races in Junior Rotax and lapping at a similar pace to the leading pack...a massive step up.
Thanks to JG Motorsport , Jake and Craig, for all your help this weekend 👍
Thanks to Wright Racing Engines for the power 💪
And to Mat Iball on the spanners....and Danielle Iball for putting up with my karting stuff all over the place!
Thanks to Special Piping Materials Ltd for sponsoring us again this year, helping to keep us up there with fresh rubber every round 👍

Round 4 Race Report;
Last weekend finally the weather was on our side.... We had some ☀️
Saturday was practice day. I just got faster and faster all day long, taking tenths off my fastest lap times each time I went out. We had some technical issues though towards the end of the day meaning we didn't finish the last 2 practice sessions. Dad worked on the kart into the evening, eventually finding an issue with the clutch and sprocket alignment and after a few new parts the kart was back together.
Race Day!
On the Sunday the team took the (drastic) decision to cut my rear axle down.... This helps remove some grip from the kart in the very hot conditions. So we set the kart up, with brand new tyres supplied by Special Piping Materials Ltd.
Qualifying:
Unfortunately I spun the kart on my second lap out when there was little heat in the tyres, on to the grass. Being over 100kg in weight I struggled to get the kart back on the track. After some mega effort though I managed to get it to a place where it would drive off but by then I had missed half the session. I managed to get up to speed quickly and put in a time only 0.5 seconds off pole...which was only good enough for 13th on the grid out of 25...so close is the field here.
Race 1.
Good start, avoid turn 1 carnage and settle down. Made up a couple of places, then got caught in a train of karts finishing in P12.
Race 2.
Good start again, up to 10th. Great battle in the mid field and on the 2nd to last lap I made a move up into P9, the kid was quick to respond though switching back and pushing me wide into turn 2...all good, fair racing though, still a P11 finish.
Final.
After a massive accident in another class resulting in a visit from the air ambulance, we were now in a race against the incoming storm to get the final completed! I started in P11. A hard race then ensued with me getting rammed from behind into turn 1 and then crashing into a spinning kart out of turn 1 bending a track rod on my kart affecting my steering for the whole race! Getting my head down I settled back into P11, swapping places through out the race with the other karts around me. Another big punt from behind nearly saw me out of the race but I managed to get it together and come over the line in P10....obtaining my very first championship point in junior Rotax 😁.
The finishing positions, and the single championship point don't sound like much... But this is a big deal for us this year. In only 4 races I have jumped up massively in terms of pace, kart control and race craft so it was a great end to our weekend.
Thanks to JG Motorsport for all the help this weekend as usual!
Thanks to Mick and especially Adam as well for loaning us the trolley (when ours snapped)....and the chain guard......and the 75 sprocket.....and the new bumper bolt.... And helping dad fix the dodgy brake bolt that rounded off....😁

Race Day!
Qualifying: Made a mistake on cold, brand new tyres, then struggled to get it off the grass on my own, so only managed half the session.
Starting P13, out of 23, only 0.5 second off pole, the grid is really close.
Practice today for round 4.... It's a hot one! Put in my fastest ever times today and only broke one thing so far (bumper bolt)...so happy me mechanic!

Getting ready for the next stage of my racing 💪🏁
Race Report for Round 3 at Hooton.
Saturday practice was a great day for us, my first proper full days testing in dry conditions, lots of work on the setup with JG Motorsport and got the kart dialed in and my best lap times so far.
On to Sunday...
Looking good in practice, with new slick tyres and up for the challenge. 10th overall out of 26 entries and just 0.9 off the fastest time.
Qualifying.
Still only 0.9 off the pace, but that dropped me down to P16, just showing how close the times were.
Race 1.
Decent start, made my up to P13. Could have been P12, just needed to push myself a bit more to make the overtake when clearly faster than the guy in front, but great experience racing in the pack.
My fastest lap time set again, just 0.5 seconds off the fastest lap in the race...a massive step forward for me.
Race 2.
Disaster. The officials let the race start even though there was a stranded kart in the middle of the track from an incident on the warm up lap, no 2nd warm up lap given, no yellow flags, very dangerous! Regardless of what was said prior to the final we all watched that race start and the kids weren't told to go round again! The karts in front of me hid what was up ahead and unfortunately I ploughed into the stationary kart at least 30mph. Luckily no one hurt, but that was us out of the race with some repair work needed!
Thanks to Craig Grestys for the help on the spanners and we were ready for the final.
Final
By now it had rained... Mad dash to throw some wet tyres on, and a very rough wet setup we headed to the back of the grid to start P24/P26.
Great start, I was up to P18 by the end of lap 1. Few laps in and I made some decent overtakes to get me up to P15. Unfortunately then I was a little too keen on the throttle coming out of the final turn which just sent me into a spin... Back down to P21... Rescued the kart, and finished the race P19.
Overall a great weekend, we learned loads (you don't need to take the floor tray off to change the steering column 😂) and my driving has come on massively.
On to the next one 💪

Hooton Park Indikart Round 2 Race Report
Back at Hooton again this weekend just gone for round 2. Saturday was dry, but cold, so a great day to have some more practice on slick tyres. We had a decent day, with lots of track time and tried loads of different setups.... Keeping dad pretty busy between sessions! I also had a couple of crashes trying to push the limits on turn 4 😬... Luckily not much damage and no injuries.
Sunday was a different story. Rain from early in the morning, and not really letting up throughout the day... So my first races in Junior Rotax with a packed grid of 28, mostly older and more experienced kids! We were also on used wet tyres, bought from the big teams that tend to use them for 1 day and then throw them away 😬. So whilst the majority of the grid were on brand new wets, we would have to make do with what we had.
Qualifying P20/28
Race 1. Avoided the turn 1 carnage, just about, having to come to a stop to miss a spinning kart I fought my way up 4 places to finish P16.
Race 2. Avoided the turn 1 carnage altogether this time and had some good battles to get myself up to P12, a great result in incredibly difficult conditions. A 2 second (pointless) penalty for track limits saw me drop to P14...despite EVERYONE using the full track (and slightly more sometimes) but seemingly not noticed by the officials...hey ho, didn't affect my starting position for the final.
Final. Now very late in the day, I was tired, very wet, and pretty damn cold! Starting P15 I avoided the turn 1 carnage (running theme here 🤔) and was up in 12th for a time, unfortunately got a slight tap in the rear which sent me into a spin. Recovered, and got myself back up to P19.
A great learning experience this weekend, racing kids with more experience, in tricky conditions, on less than ideal tyres, we move on to the next one 💪
Thanks to Jake Gresty Racing for all the help this weekend as always with the driving, I'm learning loads. And thanks to Craig Grestys for the help on the spanners.

Hooton Round 1 Race Report
My first race in junior Rotax and my first race with the team JG Motorsport
Saturday was mostly wet but we finally managed to get a go in the dry towards the end of the day. Pace looked good, got stuck in, made some overtakes and practiced braking later and later and getting the best line.
Sunday started wet again. Qualifying however the track was drying rapidly... With 40 seconds left on the clock I was in P4, but got stuck behind a slower kart on the last lap and just as everyone did their fastest lap on the last lap I dropped to P11 (of 20).
Race 1. Had to avoid a spinning kart at turn 1 and dropped to P15.
Race 2. Dropped to P16. But lap times improving the more laps I did.
Final. Finished P16 but right on the back of the pack this time and only half a second off the pace of the front runners.
Really enjoyed this weekend, thanks to everyone @ for all your help, proper looking forward to racing this year 👍
Well done to the trophie winners in the team, been awesome to watch 😎
