The most recent cake I made was this rose water and raspberry cake back in January for my own birthday.

If you have noticed, I haven’t actually updated for a long time. With the amount of time I spend on my full time job, along with the rising price of ingredients and utilities, sadly I just couldn’t take enough orders to cover all the costs and make a profit.

After seriously considering this for months, I have to make this as the end of my little business. Thank you all for the continued support, this page will remain as a hobby page as baking and cake decorating are still my love, and it’s good to have you all on this journey.

Haven’t been on here for a good few weeks when organising a wedding became so stressful due to all those continuously changing restrictions. But here I am back with my own 3 tiered wedding cake! 🤩

Bottom tier is Jack’s fav - chocolate chiffon cake with chocolate ganache; middle tier is my fav - lemon chiffon cake, with lemon curd filling, lemon and Cointreau Swiss meringue buttercream icing; and top tier is yoghurt chiffon cake, with strawberry jam filling and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream icing.

All the feather, pearls and gold details not only complemented my dress, but also had a connection with the cake we had on our registration day. Plus a bit of blue accent to fit with our colour scheme.

It’s my first and my own wedding cake, and it’s imperfectly perfect for me. Loads learned in this experience, and it was definitely a challenge making this in probably the hottest week of this year so far! Although some of the decoration fell off because of the heat, it’s amazing to see it was still standing strong till the end of the night!

It’s also the reason why I started baking and how June and Spoon was born! Just over a year ago I decided to make my own wedding cake and now here it is! Maybe it’s not perfect, but it’s absolutely an achievement that I should be proud of! And it will keep reminding me that I shouldn’t stop taking on challenges that seem impossible.

A big thank you to all our families, friends and suppliers who were all so supportive! As the bride myself, I couldn’t manage to assemble the cake myself, but lovely Bayley from our caterer was so accommodating and helped us to assemble it and set up the cake table on the day. The beautiful topper was made by my caker friend who has also helped me a lot for starting up June and Spoon. And gorgeous photos were all taken by Monika from .
