Highlights: celebrated Easter.
Accomplishments: Made good nutrition choices, Drank ketones daily, had intentional movements (went on 4 walks this week. 3 outdoor and 1 at the gym).
Things to improve: more intentional movements as my back/sciatica allows it.
When you decide to take a dip in the 41 degree 🧊 cold tank ❄️ and your nephew decides to do it with you. 😎
He dumped ice in his tub and took the plunge!

1st update of the year: Tuesday is my weigh in day and last Wednesday I went down with my sciatica nerve ☠️. I’ve pretty much been in bed 🛏️ for 6 days. Just getting up for the restroom. I almost threw my hands 🙌 up in defeat on gaining progress but I decided it was too early in the year 🗓️ for that mentality. I changed my mindset to: life was happening FOR ME not TO ME. So I determined that while I couldn’t be active I would focus on nutrition 🍱 . I did some intermittent ⏰ fasting, Drank ketones 🥤, Drank smoothies with ketones and ate low carb. I was pretty shocked 😳 when I hobbled on the scales ⚖️ this today!!!!

What are actions are you incorporating to improve your mental health?
Well things don’t ever go as planned so we have to roll with the punches. Yesterday my first trip of the year to the gym wasn’t as planned. It wasn’t fun. It wasn’t a good workout. My sciatica has been acting up so I just hit the Mat and spent about 45 minutes trying to stretch it out…. Now today I’m laid up hardly able to walk 😆.
If you had plans and life happened for you just keep pushing and do what you can. I kept my nutrition on point yesterday and today with my “team fuel” in my shaker cup! Still looking to double down in ‘24 on the results I had in ‘23.

2023 was a good year for progress. I’m happy with it Considering we had the move, home renovation where I had no set schedule and was eating whatever whenever I could for months and the finished up the last two months with this nasty chest and sinus infection. But since June I drank ketones 🍹 daily (for the most part. Every now and then a day got by me), made more healthy nutrition choices than bad and strove to be BETTER THAN YESTERDAY.
6 👖 sizes down. I’m in 2xl shirts now.
Have more continuous energy 🏃♂️
🧠 better focus and no brain fog.
I’m excited to see what progress I will achieve in 2024 now that I have the plan 🗓️ , habits and movements 🏃♂️ all going for me!

You asked for it so here it is! Actually it’s two easy recipes. 1st variation is the “I didn’t think this through early enough but I want pho in under two hours” and the second is the “I’m waking up and want pho for dinner or tomorrow Version”. The first one has some “lazier” hacks and the second is a good true homemade bone broth route. Both are easy. The latter just requires more time! If you find this useful please like and give it a share! Ingredients and cook times are in comments. But beware… I HARDLY EVER MEASURE ANYTHING! Make sure to comment your favorite protein and condiments for your pho!
