Discovery Days 2024 was held last Wednesday to Friday. During this time, Kansas 4-H youth had the opportunity to participate in hands-on sessions learning skills to use in 4-H, their personal life, college, and their future careers. 🍀

This week say Wild West District 4-H'ers and staff at Camp Lakeside with our 7-9 year olds. A great time was had by all. The 10-13 year olds are there now getting ready for a very hot camp!
We’ve paired up with the Liberal Rec Department to encourage you and your family to get out and play and enjoy the local parks!
Our Liberal Parks Passport is now available for pickup at the following locations:
-K-State Research and Extension Seward County Extension Office
- Liberal Recreation Department
- Liberal Memorial Library
- Baker Arts Center
Just grab a card, visit each park, snap some pics while you’re there and once you’ve visited all the parks listed, return your card and digital photo proof to our office at 1081 Stadium Road in Liberal for a prize!
**One card and one prize per household**
All counties are welcome to participate, other district location passports to follow soon!
Creative Cooks will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at the Liberal Recreation Center. It is a District-wide competition open to any age 4-H'er.
Creative Cooks is a hands-on foods contest for 4-H’ers that emphasizes food safety, proper place settings, nutrition knowledge, and delicious food!

The Wild West District 4-H'ers had a great night shearing sheep last night!
A huge thank you to Amanda Rowzee for donating her time and expertise to our 4-Hers.
Our 4-H summer interns, Kara Kunselman & Rylee Fann, attended training this week to learn about the curriculum they will teach youth this summer. The 4-H summer engagement grant partners with the Kansas Department of Education and Kansas 4-H to provide summer programming.
