SNP Candidate, Ward 17, Motherwell West, North Lanarkshire Council Election on Thursday 5th May 2022

07/05/2022

Unfortunately luck was against me and I missed being elected being elected to represent Motherwell West as your Councillor by only two votes.
Two more people who voted SNP 2,1 and not 1,2 would have seen both SNP candidates elected.
Elections can be fought and won on the slightest of margins, hence why your vote always counts!
Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout the campaign, engaged with me on my many walks around the ward and ultimately put your trust in me with your vote.

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

ONE DAY TO GO

TOMORROW is Polling Day.

No words can explain this decision…

LABOUR voted to CLOSE Kilbowie Outdoor Learning Centre.

TORIES abstained and did nothing.

The SNP voted to save Kilbowie.

Tomorrow - Thursday 5th May:

Send Labour and Tories a message.

Never again…

Let’s CHANGE North Lanarkshire.

03/05/2022

It is a privilege to stand as your SNP candidate in Ward 17, but only possible due to the retirement of Cllr Annette Valentine.
I’m sure you’ll all agree she will be a big miss in our community and I will do my utmost to keep her legacy alive!

A wee message from Annette Valentine.
Well that's me cleared my desk, handed in my Council laptop and phone. As of midnight tomorrow I will no longer be a Councillor fror Ward 17 Motherwell West.
It has been a privilege to represent the area for the last 15 years. There are a lot of fantastic people who live in the area and are trying to help to make it a better Community. I thank you for that. I know I have helped many people and that makes me happy. I am sorry that I could not resolve everyone's issues, I wish I could.
I wish everyone in Motherwell West all the best in the future. I will still be taking an interest in the area from a distance.
Remember to vote SNP 1 & 2 on Thursday
Thank you.

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

TWO DAYS TO GO

Today’s Labour decision is their cutting of vital Classroom Assistants across North Lanarkshire.

A huge error, that did not appreciate the vital support provided by our Classroom Assistant’s.

The SNP in Administration will work with the SNP Scottish Government to deliver our share of an additional 3,500 teachers and 500 classroom assistants.

On May 5th - for .

We can elect the first ever SNP led Council. 🗳

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

THREE DAYS TO GO

Today’s Labour decision is their ending of Free Special Uplifts for Houses across North Lanarkshire.

This was a mistake and the impact it is having on our Communities is vast - fly tipping is rising so extensively.

The SNP in Administration will reverse this and deliver a Free Special Uplift to all Households.

On May 5th - for .

We can elect the first ever SNP led Council. 🗳

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

FOUR DAYS TO GO

Today’s Labour decision is the broken promise on Bin Uplifts.

Ahead of the last Council Elections, Labour promised no changes to the bin cycles. They were put into power by the Tories and immediately broke their promise.

Another BROKEN PROMISE by LABOUR.

On May 5th - for CHANGE.

Let’s - elect the first ever SNP led Council. 🗳

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

FIVE DAYS TO GO

Today’s Labour decision is our Grass Cutting Policy.

Labour have presided over the systematic reduction of Grass Cuts across Residential and Public Areas in North Lanarkshire over the last five years.

Reducing the number of cuts, time and time again.

The SNP disagree - therefore, we have an environmental review planned in administration to get this issue dealt with.

Our message is clear.

LABOUR AREN’T CUTTING IT ANYMORE.

On May 5th - for CHANGE.

Let’s - elect the first ever SNP led Council.

We can do this! 🗳

COUNTDOWN TO POLLING DAY

SIX DAYS TO GO

With Polling Day just around the corner, we are going to highlight each day - a choice made by the current Labour Administration and their Tory Supporters - and the alternative that is available with the SNP.

Today is Free Swimming Lessons for Primary 5’s.

Cut by Labour and the Tories.

Supported by the SNP.

LABOUR CLAIMS - FACT CHECKED

We’ve heard of “fake news” before but we are shocked to see Labour in North Lanarkshire take part in it.

We saw some interesting claims in their leaflet going to residents.

“Labour in North Lanarkshire protecting you from SNP cuts”.

That is NOT the case!

These cuts are LABOUR CUTS.

Introduced through LABOUR BUDGETS.

Budgets that have been supported by the TORIES.

The reality is quite different:

FACT - Labour cut Classroom Assistants in their Budget, the SNP refused to in our Budget.

FACT - Labour have repeatedly reduced the frequency of Grass Cutting in their Budgets, the SNP refused to in ours.

FACT - Labour have repeatedly delivered extensive savings to Culture and Leisure in their Budget, the SNP mitigated these choices in ours.

“The Labour Party protects local services, the SNP cut our most vital services.” is what they say.

No mention of TORY AUSTERITY.

LABOUR are in charge of North Lanarkshire, supported by the TORIES!

On Thursday 5th May - say no more to the spin, say no more to the poor choices made by Labour, and say no more to a Labour/Tory run Council.

On Thursday 5th May -

Voting at local elections is different to other elections. You vote for candidates by ranking them using numbers, rather than marking an 'X'.
Candidates will be listed in alphabetical order, hence why we ask you to vote in a specific order, depending where you live and what polling station you vote at. This ensures that both candidates get a share of first preference votes and that BOTH of your SNP candidates are elected.

You do NOT need to vote for all candidates. Feel free to STOP after voting SNP 1&2.
Please use this simple voting guide!
