In saddest day of my life and with shattered heart, without knowing how I can possibly move through life without my son Behnoud and totally devastated sharing sad news my beloved Behnoud passed away
I am too overwhelmed and I can’t give you anymore description and details so pls don’t ask for more
I implore you to please let me grieve privately till I find a way to navigate through this . I am cutting off all my contacts in social media and daily life interactions.
I know with all love and care I always have received from all of you , you kindly want to be next to me on this but please let me be only with me and his memories until I am ready to back on my feet . Please no calls or visits , I deeply need to stay away from everything in life for now .

They looked as beautiful as these pictures and guess what I had a fall infront door and I made a big mess thank God I was able to save some and do my delivery on time , mast & khiyar ( Persian Taztiki) wine leaves dolma , and khoresht gheymeh ( lamb and lentil stew ) other wise my friend would be so upset . I didn’t leave picture of the mess I made by the time of tripping over but final picture of food table is here for you . P.s. I didn’t tell my friend about fall she just gonna finds that out here , sorry mate it was a lot more than what you received but you said you loved the food and that’s what it matters 😂🥰

My not very new but interesting hobby is baking Barbari which is very similar to Turkish bread but a bite more crunch at crust corners . Originally baked by Afghan Barbar tribe and when it was brought by them to Iran in Safavi dynasty time in honour of them it was called Barbari . Most common bread in North west provinces and as funny joke it’s called Turkish biscuit but it’s also very common in other states as well . Not so hard to bring it to right level and could be baked with all sorts of flour but best result comes with simple white flour . Super delicious when it’s right out from the oven and I just love the crunchy corners.

Unbelievable, shocking sad news today . A sad day for all chefs around the world , to not only losing one of best chefs ever but above that one of the kindest humans being . I never forgot how he always was in tears with shaking voice in all those emotional scenes of Master chef , not only a master in cooking but master of hearts , rest in peace dear Jock Zonfrillo , my dream will never come true to meet you in person one day on master chef show .

Ranginak Halva is Date base pastry with fried flour in butter and cardamom and cinnamon powder infusion with huge amount of all sorts of nuts , it’s reputation refers to southern states of Iran , south Iran is beautifully covered with date trees all over the state . The relationship residents of these area have with dates is unbelievable since they talk about date trees as they are talking about human being ,cutting date trees without council permission is close considered as a big crime . One thing I’m not sure about date tree is if their head is cut they never grow again . As the pulse of economy and people economic prosperity is so dependent to date trees in these area , cutting or demolishing date trees is like killing human being for these people , they have huge variety of dishes and deserts made with dates or date syrups and ranginak is one of the most popular and favourite. There are nearly 400 different kinds of dates are grown in southern states of Iran , and it’s healthy , delicious and luscious taste and specifications made it to be one of the most common ingredients in many food but mostly very common to have with tea specially in fasting month you hardly can find any table without date , also so common in religious ceremonies and funerals. There is a very famous story about date one day a mother goes to principal of school asks him to contaminating her son because he eats lots of dates during the day , teacher asks mother go home with your son and come back tomorrow, the next day mother and son go to principal and gives the boy long speech about how bad it is to have lots dates every day and ask him to settle to few dates a day . When the boy leaves the room , mother asks principal why you didn’t this speech yesterday what was the difference between today and yesterday that you refused to talk to my son about not having to much date yesterday , the principal with huge shame on his face says because I had lots dated myself yesterday so this became a poetical and very famous slang among Iranian if you eat lots of dates don’t dare to con-dominate others

I was passing by this Greek cafe in Monee Pondes in Melbourne yesterday . I noticed their kind support of Iranian women and Irans revolution. Thank you so much , if other cafe in Melbourne which is the most competitive business in Melbourne will start supporting Iranian that would be a great heart warming action to Iranian who are fighting for justice and freedom and great service to humanity . I sincerely ask my Iranian fellow in Melbourne to support their business just to say thank you and encourage the other cafe in Melbourne. Cafe could be a great space to spread word of humanity , people may say we come here to relax and have fun but aren’t we all connected in soul , it’s impossible to feel happy and relaxed when our other better half some where in world is in pain . . From Siavosh to Mahsa

In the stories of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, it is mentioned that Siyavosh, the hero of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, when he died young, Farangis, the daughter of Afrasiab, Siavosh's lover, cut her hair, which was a symbol of fertility, on his grave as a sign of mourning. Mourning became a symbol of sadness for the death of lost youth
Today, women all over the world are cutting their hair as a symbol of mourning for the balding Iranian youth, so that the world knows that we are mourning and bloodthirsty for the Iranian youth who were martyred by the brutal regime of the Islamic Republ

All women all around the world are videoing cutting their hair as a symbol of protest to what is happening in Iran by Islamic government of Iran yet those who could be loudest voice of all for this injustice, brutal, barbarian, massacres are still quit . We Iranian have a proverb as we say moon will never hides behind clouds for ever . It will come out and start shinning again and there is nothing but shame is left for those who are still conservatively keep silent.

Although when I started this page it was supposed to representative of my cultural food and my home land traditions and it will be not only because that’s my passion but also because it supports my life and few others who are depended on me financially but I decided to stop posting about food and culture while there is no peace for my homeland . First day of spring in Iran is coincidence with Persian new year . Iranian believe they should eat rice cooked with herbs and fried fish in first night of spring ( their new year called Norouz ) . Herbs like parsley, coriander, dill, chives and fresh garlic should be finely chopped and cooked with aromatic rice . Served with fried fish . The reason is green in herbs is a symbol for spring and rice is symbol of blessing in coming year as in old days not everyone could afford having rice and most people were poor so they only could eat rice once a year and that was in new year night . Cultivation and harvesting rice was a very hard process before they could get benefits from mechanical agriculture system and that was the reason for rice being so expensive.Also since in cultivation of rice there should be lots of water and only one state in Iran has enough rain for this process this was and still is another reason for rice high price , although these days rice could be easily imported from other countries but they are not as aromatic as Persian rice . The pleasant and different aroma for Persian rice makes it distinguished from any other rice , you should try it to know what do I mean.
Fish in Persian language is called ( Mahi) the real meaning of Word Mahi is = once a month )

Even many Iranian don’t know why they name ( fish = Mahi= once a month )
In very old days there was not any cooling system to save food from being spoiled specially for fish which spoiled much faster than any other food .
Also as most states in Iran are dry and there are only few green area near sea or rivers having fish , it was so so common among people to have fish regularly. Maybe every now and then or Once A Month some passengers to states close to sea bring them a fish as souvenir.
That’s why it was called Mahi= once a month
Also fish itself was symbol of wisdom in the coming year as Solemn the profit who lost his ring found it in fish and that ring was symbol of wisdom
Everyone have fried fish with rice and herbs that night and those who can’t afford buying fish make herb frittata which is well chopped above herbs mixed with beaten eggs , salt , pepper, chopped g
