It’s almost game time folks…
Water bill, schwater bill - don’t rely just on rainfall because God and Mother Nature like to keep us on our toes.
But, if you really can’t or don’t want to water it for whatever reason, at LEAST put down some Hydretain. The short version is you apply 9oz per 1k sqft to an already wet yard then water it in RIGHT AWAY. This stuff lets the grass pull natural moisture from humidity in the air and helps it maintain a certain level of moisture. Each app is good for ~ 90 days. For a 5k sqft yard, one gallon will last you a whole season - apply in May/June and July/August. Rainfall should carry you the rest of the way outside those months. A $65 jug for the whole season beats an elevated water bill.

For my cool season people, your Fescue and/or KBG won’t truly wake up until soil temps are consistently over 50-55F. Sit tight, April looks promising. 🤞🏼
