Sorry it took so long for me to post this, I wrote this the first time I sat down to have the first meeting.
Paul Docere, a well renowned doctor with a drinking problem, is fighting his wife for custody of the children.
His hand shakes from an injury that happened when he was younger in an off roaring accident. He takes a shot before going into surgery to stop the trembling and calm his nerves.
He finds himself in constant battle with himself on one front and with the industry on another. From what he had learned studying how to help and heal others he feels betrayed partially by his profession. He couldn’t help but feel he had sold out on the patients’ interests and failed his oath. As a physician it was his code to hold himself to a higher standard. He should be doing better, or atleast his sense of duty and moral obligation would insist.
In an attempt to kill the pain within the struggle manifests outward. His effort and desire to help fix others came from chronic illness and deep rooted trauma. With a little help and support of close friends, he turns pain to gain, facing roadblocks and opposition.
The politics of the trade interferes with his ability to perform his civic duty. The struggle reflects the controversy established and the nature of the business of death.
Did some writing, had a fun light hearted evening. Don’t feel bad if you couldn’t make it. We’ll do this again. I’ll share the writing I did on here when it’s fully revised.
