Years of partnership —-continuing collaboration between San Pedro College, Philippines and Kansai University, Japan.

06 September 2023 —- San Pedro College was graced with the presence of two Japanese professors, Dr. Keiko, from Kansai University and Prof. Takashi, from Kyoto University. An overwhelming talk focusing on Kansai’s best in terms of use of technology, like metaverse, in classrooms and teaching down to possibilities of visiting their country through scholarship grants astonished everyone in the AVR. Dr. Keiko’s presentation lasted for almost 30 minutes. Yet, as observed from the participants’ reactions, said experience may last longer, for it created an inspiration to those who eye-witnessed her presentation.

The event was organized by the Internationalization and Linkages Office, headed by Dr. Erwin Faller, and was attended by the SHS Assistant Principal, Mr. Carmelo Banlasan; SHS Coordinator, Mr. Modisto Cabanesas; School of BMEAS Dean, Dr. Genaro Alderite; BMEAS-TED Program Coordinator, Mr. Arjay Arcena; and faculty and students for both college and SHS departments. “It was, indeed, an opportunity for all of us to be collaborating with Kansai University”, emphasized by the director of Interlink, Dr. Faller.

The meeting was concluded with a sumptuous dinner, a night before our guests’ flight back to Japan. Arigatou and safe travels!
