Brooklyn, NY - New York Progressive Action Network (NYPAN) has proudly endorsed District Leader Sarana Purcell , who is the District Leader and State Committee Member of the 43rd Assembly District. Sarana Purcell is our second endorsement in the 43rd Assembly District, as our first endorsement was Assembly Candidate and Democratic Nominee, Brian Cunningham. Ms. Purcell was born in the Spice Island of Grenada and moved to the community at a very young age and has been active since. As a young mother and advocate, she has deep ties to the community. From attending public schools, to graduating from CUNY and working in government within the community for over 15 years. She has led the charge when it comes to demanding an adequate educational system, access to healthcare, affordable housing and much more. Sarana has shown persistent commitment and dedication to her community and has proven to be a real representation of all community members. NYPAN prides itself on working alongside advocates and community leaders who have always aligned with our platform, and those who have a history of working with us to bring about progressive change for the people. We know and feel that Sarana Purcell is best fit for the role of District Leader and State Committee Member for the 43rd Assembly District, which encompasses Crown Heights, Prospect Lefferts Garden, Flatbush and East Flatbush.

Dear Friends,
Thank you all for the birthday well wishes. I am truly humbled by the outpouring of calls, text messages and birthday posts. Life is a journey that I cherish. Often at times it can be cut too short for so many. I am blessed, grateful and thankful for you. I have worked, collaborated and connected with so many of you at different phases in my life throughout my career in public service.

Brooklyn Council Member receives support from Billionaire Trump Donor and Supporter:
"Former presidential candidate and once child star, Brock Pierce has decided to try to sway the votes in the 45th City Council District, which is Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood, Marine Park, Kensington and Flatlands. Brock has a history of donating to national campaigns, including more than $100,000 to Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election push and the Republican National Committee in August 2019, FEC records show. Brock recently donated $1,000 to Farah Louis' campaign for re-election in the 45th District. We can only imagine the behind the door conversations and deals that were probably made with an avid supporter of Trump and the Republican National Committee. This may explain why our communities are being left in filth and the silence community members have received when they reach out for assistance. This leaves us to wonder, what plans are in-store for the predominantly Democratic Community of the 45th District and legislative agendas for the City.
