Update 08/26: Chapo has been adopted today 🎉🎉🎉 ‼️🚨Extremely Urgent 08/23/2023!‼️🚨. The shelter named him Chapo. He’s red listed and cleared to be euthanized because the shelter is full. He can be euthanized any moment now. I’m not the shelter but a volunteer at the shelter and I created this account to highlight the wonderful dogs I spend time with and about to be euthanized at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms so they can have a chance to be seen and saved DM me if you can rescue, adopt or foster Chapo so I don’t miss your comment. Chapo is very sweet, I have a video of him wagging his tail at every single dog on our way to the playground. But he’s kennel stressed and at first he’s a little scared when you enter in his kennel but immediately relax wheh he realizes you’re friendly. Unfortunately he snapped a staff member and that’s why he’s about to be euthanized. He was adorable, well behaved, gave me kissed the whole time we were together and so happy to be far away from this noisy atmosphere. Because of his bite history you will have to sign a waiver but he’s really a good boy and he deserves it. Can you adopt or foster him? Even though at the time of rescue chemo was on hold because Basto was not stable enough to withstand treatment, he still rallied and we have not given up on this strong willed boy! Basto still needs chemotherapy to defeat the contagious cancer. Basto was living on the streets of Peru scrounging for food just like all the other strays. His face was oozing with infection. His skull was deformed from TVT cancer. This type of cancer can be cured, but only if he was saved in time. TVT cancer is a sexually transmitted, contagious type of cancer that is rampant among populations of unsterilized strays. He was filthy, full of ticks and fleas, his fur was matted and was starving. As suspected he’s anemic from erhlichia, which is a tick borne disease, another life-threatening condition, if untreated among the stray population. Pray for our strays🙏 Help when you can.
