Gravity Charging unveiled a new design for EV charging stations, called Distributed Access Energy Points (DEAPs), which resemble trees. These tall structures have charge cables that hang down from swivel arms, much like those at self-service car washes. The design prevents tripping hazards by lifting the cable back up after use. Capable of delivering 200-kw or 500-kw power, DEAPs can add up to 200 miles of range in just 5 to 13 minutes without needing utility upgrades. Gravity aims to create a vast urban fast-charging network, potentially outpacing Tesla's Supercharger network in both coverage and power.
